it will, it will just take time. 1st they will add some new channel or something

I believe it is the bandwidth that is allocated to the broadcasts. They cram quite a bit of channels but there is not enough bandwidth allocation. I believe they are selling the bandwidth to more profitable purposes , ie, telecommunications, other nations broadcasters, news agencies...

The latest decoder I received yesterday has composite, S-video as well as component video out, and LR-audio, optical audio out as well as USB port in front. This decoder was just launched very recently replacing the component-out-no-s-video decoders.

Is there a RF out as well?

another round of price increase?!? Hope not.

Of course it will be more expensive, no where in the world is there implementation of HD cable/satellite where the price is the same for SD vs HD broadcast, so why expect it to be any different here.

OTA HD will be free, albeit RTM/TV3 etc, cable is never free unless it is illegal.

True also. It depends on the content that the provider is able to get.

Competition won't solve all the problems, but it's one step in the right direction.

The problem with broadcasts these days is that even internationally there are only a few players. Most of the Rupert M owned companies are are also monopolising the industry worldwide.

side news from retailer  tongue.gif

ASTRO HD will be having around 5 HD channels with resolution 1080i..
They included National Geo and HBO..

Thus, only viewer who take those packages can install the HD decoder from ASTRO..
The freq required for HD signal is very high.. Those using Main disc in apartments cannot use the HD service as it need special bigger disc..And those with bad quality wall conceal coaxial cable (usually developer wanna save cost then use china mada wire) also will having problem to use it..

By any chance are the other channels sports channels?
