Why do they have to show us those rubbish codes?

It was a stupid decision by Astro. If I see this on their HD channel I really will write a letter of complaints.

It's to identify you as a subscribed member. It's illegal for you to record the broadcast and sell the content like how pirates does.

And they've done it.

The mamak stall showing their astro to customers everywhere also no hal... Malaysia no enforcement of any kind. Stupid really as it has little effect showing those codes ...

Its a pointless 'security' measures. The law enforcers cannot even stop pirates from selling illegal movies, and codes like that can make any difference?

I saw a shop selling WWF pay per views with Astro logo on it. Lols!

so ... now they've gone HD - and cheaply at that, it's time to whinge about other things like the code, aspect ratios and everything else

Exactly, i don't get why people are getting upset over such trivial issues

not going to upgrade since i've already unsubscribe the bloodsucking exp sport channels

Well, for just RM20 extra, I'm sold. I want to watch HBO and NatGeo on HD. Been waiting for this too long already. Buying Blu-Ray's aren't enough. Hopefully they'll come to install the new stuff fast.

Best of all, World Cup 2010 in HD!

Nah, they wont. If it's a HD Channel, then most if not all content will be delivered in HD. World Cup 2010 is definitely gonna be in HD with Astro B.yond. Heck, it's even gonna be shot with 3D cameras for those who has 3D-capable HDTVs(of course, Astro wont be offering this kind of service anytime soon).

Can you imagine the uproar if Astro decides to upscale SDTV res instead of showing native HD World Cup 2010? There will be blood, I tell you. haha

I am thinking of buying a Plasma TV. If ASTRO do go HD in the near future, PLASMA or LCD would be better? I know currently, with the analog signal, plasma is clearer. I am using a LCD at home now and it is not as clear as a PLASMA.

Could I get your opinion guys?
