In anticipation of FM3 ......








This is the Wheel Stand Pro. Took a gamble as i had my sceptism about this contraption. luckily, my gamble paid off. this thing is really solid and sturdy. doesn't wobble even with force feedback. and after playing, just pull the lever, fold the stand, and keep in store room. very practical.

It was a toss up between this Wheel Stand Pro or the Fanatec Rennsport Wheel Stand. But from the reviews I read, the Wheel Stand Pro allows you to tilt the wheels for better positioning.

Pressing rewind makes the steering wheel turn on its own in reverse as well. My only gripe so far.

The 2 disc installation to hard drive did not come with clear instructions out of the box. had to trial and error. sorry la me noob!

Basically, u need to only copy Disc 1 to the hard disk first. Ignore Disc 2 for now. When u run the game for the first time after u install to hard disk, the game will prompt u to install Disc 2 to the hard disk.

I tried installing both Disc 1 & 2 out of the box and it didnt work. Just thought I'd share that.

I'm surprised there's already so many cars available in the Auction House. But those custom paint jobs are pretty pricey at the moment.

Also, the cockpit view is not properly implemented in some cars e.g. I'm driving the E class Alfa Romeo now and in cockpit view, you can't see the side and rear view mirrors, so cannot see other cars.

imho, much nicer and easier to read and navigate compared to FM2.

@ madnoren - you'll need 3 consoles & 3 copies of the game to do that.

You can play from Disc 1 without installing it to hdd. when prompted at the setup phase, they'll ask u if you'd like to install Disc 2 to the hdd to enjoy the full FM3 experience (whateva that means!!). This will eat up 1.9GB of hdd space for the Disc 2 installation. I don't know what you'll miss out if you didnt install the Disc 2, possibly certain tracks, or cars, or whatever. So to answer your question, you'll need at least 1.9GB hdd for Disc 2 if u play Disc 1 without installing to hdd.

btw, even with both discs installed on hdd, i find the loading times before each race still quite long (maybe around 20-25 secs). or maybe i'm just impatient.

you're lucky i take no offence to your insinuation that i play pirated games. lol.

but i dunno how to tune la .... never been able to do that. all i do is just race based on default tuning setup.
