I was really happy with Forza 2 in fact ... Preferred it over the Gran Turismo series , even though the latest GT5P was filled with oodles of eye candy and etc , I still found the gameplay and controls better on the xbox 360

nafi.. ko nak kena lempang ke?? GT?? suuuuck big time! only promise after promise and yeeet????? FM FTW!!!
I think it boils down to personal preference lah As mention before , I myself have also tried both , FM as well as GT5 , and time after time I still find myself enjoying Forza Motorsport 2 more than GT5 ,
it all comes down to your own personal preference , not everyone has the same taste in games , and seeing that this is an Xbox forum , I'm sure for the most part , we'll all be getting our hands on this game , be it good o rnot , just to know how bad or good it is

Forza 2 prob had less eye candy... but the community was amazing when i was in japan... I didnt even play the game, I had fun just by tuning, painting and trading cars. Its a second hand car dealers wetdream... haha...

Indeed. I make more money from trading cars then racing them. LoL
First thing I noticed in Forza 3. Cockpit-cam! Woohoo!. Hopefully the camera pans as you turn the wheel. Second, the damage/physics engine. Cars can now flip.

from the looks of it, at least the share video feature looks bloody damn interesting. I'm sure we'd see lotsa vids from our xbox community soon enough after the game release.
"Racing game of this gen" Wow! Cool! I thought Forza only got those simple modification engine and stuff, totally speechless.. So many people, tattooist, skateboarder.. Hell.. Community ftw!

So...a broad overview:
Car content:
Most of the tuner cars are gone, with the exception of the Mugen Honda Civic and Integra and the Mine's R32 and R34 Skyline. Thankfully, that means the awful tuner car liveries are gone too.
For BrianJ:
1971 Skyline 2000GTR R33 GTR
No R35 GTR, because they are a bunch of twatwaffles. Apparently the GTR team is independent from the rest of Nissan on many levels, one of them being licensing. The only way they would allow us to use the R35 was if it had no damage, no rollover, no custom wheels, no custom parts that improved performance, no painting, and no livery. So we said no thanks.
I think that's a net +1 to the Skyline count.
The usual suspects have also been added:
Corvette ZR1 '09 Cadillac CTS-V 370Z Reventon Ferrari California Evo X GR STI Camaro Veyron
etc....
If you like your wheels old school:
Fiat 131 Abarth 2nd gen Toyota Celica Supra 250 Testa Rossa Aston Martin DB5
If you like shitboxes:
Versa Yaris Aveo Xd
If you like Smokey and the Bandit or Knight Rider:
'79 Camaro Z28 '87 Firebird '88 Camaro IROC-Z
If you like trucks:
Rang Rover Supercharged Saleen S331 Supercab Ram SRT10 Audi Q7 VW Toureg Porsche Cayenne
If you like Italians:
Alfa 8C Alfa Brera Alfa Mito Fiat 500 Abarth
If you like race cars:
Aston Martin Prodrive DB9s 997 and E92 BMW GT cars Porsche, Acura, and Mazda LMP cars
Meh....that's all I can think of off the top of my head. If you ask about a specific car it may jog my memory.
As far as tracks go, the only big licensed one we added was Le Mans. Fujimikaido is back though and pretty cool, and we have some imaginary tracks that are a huge improvement over the older stuff.
The big change to the Livery Editor is that all cars, including race cars, are paintable now. Black on black on black Ferrari Prodrive 550 GT1 racecar looks awesome. That is all.
As far as rollover goes, what you saw in the first video is pretty hard to accomplish. It won't be like Burnout where every car to car contact will result in exploding rollover mayhem. It's actually fairly hard to do. So don't worry. While physics compromises were made in order to make the game "more fun" to a wider audience, it's still more simulator than arcade.
The "one button" racing mode is basically massive assists and auto braking. You still have to steer and hit the gas, but it's designed for super casual quasi car guys that just want to race a pretty car around a track. All assists can be progressively turned off if you like.
Customising has a new "quick option" that allows you to set a PI limit, then bias it in favor of speed or handling, and the game will select a set of upgrades for you. Should make getting a car tuned for a PI limit race easier for the uninitiated.
The DLC plan is for 10 cars a month for the next year. Some of the cars will be things that didn't make it into the release version, like the Ford Escort RS1800 - some will be new cars we haven't seen yet, like the Corvette Gran Sport. I haven't the slightest clue what the track DLC plan is.
That's about it for now off the top of my head that might be interesting to you guys. Cheers.

Um, GT5 got over 800 cars! Wow! Well, they took years and years to produce the games, so, depends le, I think GT5. Forza on the other hands, took 1-3 years to develop Forza 3? So, If Forza 3 even come close to GT5, In longer run, Forza will dominate racing genre.
Hard to say.....But 1UP awarded Forza 3 best of E3 racing game... GT5 was not even nominated...(they still busy deveoping the game... )

GT5 other than the great graphics, wide range of cars that they are proposing and the excitement to their license mode, i dont see any other features yet to compare with Forza.
Forza 3 on the other hand has car damage, custom paint jobs, driving assists, different camera views (interiror view ), better physics not graphics, and an online trade system.
Hard to say which is better since GT5 has not release any additional news on the game therefore, i would say Forza 3 is the best racing game in its genre.
yeah.. me also agree with u all... FM3 is the best for now. even GT5 is out.. i'd still love FM3 since i'm not really into GT... played GT5P, always got pawned by other players..
wow forza 3 looks awesome why some forumers says it has ps2 graphics they blind or what,Looks like polyphony digital need to speed up their game release if not forza will overtake

Che said; Forza 3 is going to look even better There's no denying that Forza 3 is a great looking game and Che from Turn 10 affirms that what we saw at E3 was just builds branched for stability way back in mid-May and that the game already looks better and its going to look even better each passing week
Forza Motorsport 3: Le Mans Screen Shots, Partial Car List
Over the weekend, the developers from Turn 10 released these gorgeously detailed, high-resolution images of their new Forza Motorsport 3 racer, all but confirming the inclusion of the Le Mans famed Circuit De La Sarthe. [Update: one lap video]
The announcement that the famed 8.489 Mile, 21 turn Circuit De La Sarthe will be included in the next generation of the famed Forza series has got to get more than just a few enthusiasts excited. Previously the only way you could act out your French endurance dreams was by going to the Playstation-based series, Gran Turismo. Thankfully Turn 10 developers made the trek across the pond to measure, photograph and accurately re-build the famed circuit in digital form for us to create our own epic 24 Hour of Le Mans battles. In fact, Turn 10 Track Team Lead, Matt Collins, apparently collected over 15,000 images to help with the Stateside team's digital replica including images of the track barriers, road materials, rumble strips, vegetation and trackside buildings. The nearly 60GB of source material has been accurately placed with the help of physical data collected via GPS to create ultra realistic digital versions of both circuit configurations, Bugatti and Sarthe.
Also released this weekend was this partial car list of ten included Le Mans Prototypes along with a few detailed images of the exterior and interior of each of the digital versions of these famed racers which you can see below.
We've also compiled a list of the cars that we know will make the game thus far, but remember this is nowhere near the final list as there will be over 400 cars from 50 different manufacturers, all of which will feature full range of visual and mechanical customization. Also, expect to see more parts-flying carnage thanks in part to a more realistic damage model that will also include the ability for cars to completely roll over during a race, a feature not previously attempted in a racing game.
Forza Motorsport 3 Confirmed (Partial) Car List:
Road Cars: Corvette Z06 Corvette ZR1 Alfa Romeo 8C Aston Martin DBS Aston Martin DB5 Vantage Audi R8 4.2L V8 Audi R8 5.2L V10 BMW 135i BMW E92 M3 Cadillac 2009 CTS-V Dodge Challenger SRT8 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR Ferrari California Ferrari F430 Scuderia Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Fiat 500 Ford 1968 Shelby Mustang GT-500KR Ford GT Ford RS200 Honda Civic Honda NSX Jaguar XKR Lamborghini LP640-4 Lotus Elise Lotus Evora Maserati Gran Turismo Mercedes-McLaren SLR Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series MINI Cooper S Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR Nissan 370Z Nissan Sentra Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 Pagani Zonda C12-S Porsche 997 GT2 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Tesla Roadster TVR Sagaris

As we mentioned above, the Circuit De La Sarthe will see its Forza debut along with 100 other real life global circuits which will include drift circuits, road courses, oval tracks and the long-rumored drag strip. You'll be able to pick up your very own copy of Forza Motorsport 3 this October. [via ForzaMotorsport]

This is the Wheel Stand Pro. Took a gamble as i had my sceptism about this contraption. luckily, my gamble paid off. this thing is really solid and sturdy. doesn't wobble even with force feedback. and after playing, just pull the lever, fold the stand, and keep in store room. very practical.
It was a toss up between this Wheel Stand Pro or the Fanatec Rennsport Wheel Stand. But from the reviews I read, the Wheel Stand Pro allows you to tilt the wheels for better positioning.

FM3 LE. Quite nice the packaging, but is it worth extra $20? I'm pretty sure if you don't have Live its worthless.
Includes:
- a 2GB USB drive and a keychain, both "specially branded" (ie they've got the Forza logo on them)
- "Forza Motorsport VIP Membership", which will "entitle gamers to special treatment at the game's auction house, community storefront, and on the game's official forums."
- 5 cars, "available only through your VIP membership"
- "Exclusive Collector's Edition Car Pack", which is five cars that have been "hand tuned and hand painted by the developers at Turn 10"
- A Forza 3 dashboard theme.
Also, check out Kotaku for screenshots of the "new" LE and VIP cars

Wow, I still remember when I was a kid and I couldn't imagine games would end up looking this good. NICE! Will the cockpits reflect weight reductions? I doubt they will, I bet they would have to model everything again, but one can dream right? Also, I bought all the Forza 2 car packs. Will there be a similar number of new cars added to Forza 3 later on?
Yes, it will reflect weight reduction and roll cages installed.

Forza 3 has gone gold, and to mark the occasion, Microsoft and Turn 10 have announced that a demo for the game will be hitting Xbox Live on September 24th, giving players over a month to familiarize themselves with the game in advance of the October 27th release date. The demo features five cars ready to race on the Camino Viejo track in the mountains of Spain.
The five cars playable in the demo are:
2007 Porsche #80 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro 2009 Ferrari California 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR 2009 Mini John Cooper Works
All five can be driven in full cockpit view, with rollover, damage, and the game's new rewind feature firmly in place. The demo also supports online leaderboards, so you can start bragging a little bit earlier.

using the wheel is much more better than using the controller and much more fun..also depends if u got space to mount the wheel on a table or sumthing..to bad i cant get to play with it since i borrowed mine to someone and that someone left for dubai...lol
“Forza Motorsport 3” Unveils the Ferrari Collection and Original Amalfi Coast Track
This October, the universally recognized “cavallino rampante” of Ferrari’s prancing stallion badge makes its return in “Forza Motorsport 3,” the highly anticipated racing experience from Turn 10 exclusively for Xbox 360. As the perfect complement to “Forza Motorsport 3’s” sizable Ferrari roster, Turn 10 is also lifting the curtain on an originally designed track, the Amalfi Coast, where fans will enjoy both point-to-point and circuit racing as they speed through the scenic landscape of Italy’s rustic coastline.
As Ferrari takes center stage at the Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany, Microsoft and Turn 10 are excited to announce that “Forza Motorsport 3” will include 29 models from the legendary manufacturer, including iconic cars such as the Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 512 TR, Ferrari F40, Ferrari Enzo, and Ferrari 430 Scuderia at the title’s release.
To properly showcase all of the amazing Ferrari models that players will find in “Forza Motorsport 3,” Turn 10 will be showcasing all 29 models on Forzamotorsport.net, starting today and running for the remainder of the week. These reveals will include exclusive screenshots and information on each model, as well as a few surprises, so be sure to tune in daily. For the latest updates on all things “Forza Motorsport” as well as a chance to give feedback and ask questions, follow Turn 10 on twitter (@turn10studios).
Additionally, to help complete the Italian racing experience, “Forza Motorsport 3” takes racers on a tour through one of the most beautiful destinations in the world – the luxurious Amalfi Coast of Italy. Inspired by the picturesque environments of the coastline, the originally designed Amalfi Coast track is sure to be a fan-favorite for showing off breathtaking videos and screenshots captured in “Forza Motorsport 3’s” video export and photo modes. As a circuit, the Amalfi coast is 3 kilometers of challenging narrow cobblestone roads, beautiful beachside vistas, and tight tunnels. In its “Rally di Positano” configuration, the Amalfi Coast is over 19 kilometers of white-knuckled tarmac rally heaven. Fans of point-to-point racing will love getting from point A to point B on the many stages of the Amalfi Coast.
“Forza Motorsport 3” is rated E for Everyone and will be available in the U.S. on Oct. 27, 2009, Europe on Oct. 23, and Asia on Oct. 22. For a deeper dive on the cars in today’s reveal and upcoming announcements in the coming days, please visit

Anyone have any idea bout the price for the Limited Edition one , and whether GH is carryign it ?
Based at PA, it should price around RM300++. GH still not sure whether it will be available or not. But, they said, if Japan have it, we also might be able to get it as well.
pakai wireless steering main lagi teruk.. i sudah test power.. pakai controler lagi best. forza3 senang handling dari forza2.. jangan beli steering main forza 3.

bagus la, skarang boleh jual lu punya steering wheel betul2.
Foooh... the attention to detail is amazing! They've actually gone and modeled tire flex visually. Check out the left rear tire in the 2nd pic.
When you get the chance, try watching the replay with the Wheel Camera Advanced mode. Can see the individual tires flexing under the side loads.
Handbrak is now mapped to B button. And if you press left on the D-pad, it enables Drift points scoring instead of lap times. The points are only scored if your sliding AND countersteering.
My only gripe is if only they could widen the FOV for the cockpit view. Feels a bit too far forward at the moment, you can't really see the side mirror and the rear view mirror.

Not a technical kinda guy, but first impressions :
Better sense of speed, everything feels more responsive, eg Audi R8 drives really fast now, The R3 Porsche a bit gayat.
The hood cam now has rear view mirror, the cockpit cam is excellent, I feel I can race with this view no problems, feels a bit funky looking at the arms on the steering same with the arms in your steering except when you're scratching your balls la
lastly, the steering, its a better experience, you feel the tyres more, even more so than FM2. I don't know how to explain in technical terms, but when you corner, it seems like the tyres even dictate the feedback on the steering. All I can say is, if you plan on getting a steering wheel, FM3 should be the reason.
Oh, and I see the tyre flex

Dunno why but Auto Break really annoying to use it.
In Forza 2 I prefer more on whole car view but Forza 3 I feel better and more confident driving the car in cockpit view. So technically for me Forza 3 with steering wheel should be better and more fun to drive... Ohooo
Wish the full game can load faster.

Yeah feels better with the wheel now, more natural. Haven't tried auto brake, but I totally agree, the loading time should be faster. Loads so slow even installed on hdd.

I think Im gonna use the auto break when endurance time Its really not that great, but its not that bad either.... For the view, im still gonna stick with the bird eye view because I like to see my own car...
an addition to that, the engine sound of the Evo X and R8. it's the same! even the handling of the Evo X feels the same like the real Evo X in real life
as for loading time, me no care as long as the game loads

What if when you want over take car(s) near the corner and suddenly auto break kick in?

The cockpit view feels awkward, when you push the right stick to the right/left the view will go out of the window, you have to push up and slowly to the right/left to have view stays in the car, it's not like PGR4.

Wsalam & hello..... FM3 not just awesome, it could be the best racing game THIS years...
In my opinion, GT5 wins at graphic department. No doubt. However, the gameplay is a diferent story. I already play GT5P....and the physics/handling/multiplayer were not good. Seriously not good. PD concentrated too much on polishing the cars, track & the environment. I really hope they improve that when GT5 come out on March 2010.
In addition, werent they in their 5th year development of the game? isnt that a bit too much just to make a game. Anyway, good thing also that the game delayed so that i can enjoy FM3 1st...

After 'jiran sebelah' datang
hehe...i.i said THIS year.....2009 ..
Anyway...if anyone here is a racing fan, they definitely know the pros and cons of both game....

One thing, though, is that GT5 and FM3 doesn't seem to target the same people (FM has always felt a little more arcade-y), which is probably a smart move on Turn 10's part, seeing as PD has nearly perfected the art of sim making.

Not to kutuk my own 'kawan', but most PS3 users tend to think of FM players as GT haters

yes...its a great addition that GT5 have damage (despite some say it overrated....)...But not all cars right?
GT haters?....ewwww...where got...we always welcome other people... ..I love GT1, GT2,GT3,GT4.....I hate GT5P....
If no damage, i dont think its gonna be a sim racing game per se. Well..thats just my opinion.
Kalo buat 'cockpit' pakai frame mcm ni pon orait jugak. Murah but nampak flimsy abit....

IINM, GT5 will have full damage.
Not that the FM community is full of GT haters, but it seems to be a common misconception.
Personally, I play GT5P when I feel serious sikit, and FM2 when I want to goyang kaki a bit, if you know what I mean.
Both games are excellent anyway
I think there is misconception here, most FM community are not GT haters. I can see many FM community owns PS3 still buying GT series game, including me. I'm not hating it, just that currently FM2 and FM3 demo game play feel better compare to GT5P, once GT5 full version out can be different story already. Most of them here just want to voice out their opinions after comparing GT5P and FM2 and FM3 demo.
Both games can be serious or goyang kaki depends how you play it.
