Dun blame everything to Proton, even my Dad's E90 had the passenger side airbag prematured deployed. Luckily it was under warranty and got it replaced. Checked and it was the wirings too.

See I always have this fear that things like that will happen to airbags equipped cars.. hahaha. Not just proton, but any car.

And the thing about Malaysians is.. If any part in Proton goes wrong, confirm proton is in the wrong. But if your merc's airbag malfunction or the door handle come off. its not merc's problem  whistling.gif

When an accident involves P1 or P2, ppl will say that the car problem that causing the accident. When the accident involves a Merc or Beemer, ppl will say it is the drivers fault.

its probably because its CKD...being assemble by malaysian jaguh kampung monkey hand so cannot count...can happen to shitty CKD toyota and honda as well...

on german/japan made merc/bmw...this hardly happens...of cause I'm not saying merc and bmw are reliable shit...they break down a lot too cause too many shitty unreliable electronics...thankfully merc has woken up and finally address many of their shithole electronic malfunction issue...my point is...they workmanship and quality is up to minimum standard...

I dont think so as accidents happens. Just like in production, the production number will never reach perfect due to bound of defects in a few regardless it is in Malaysia or overseas. My friend who drives a 206CC in uk got his airbag prematured deployed too, guess luck was not on his side though. As far as i see, there is no issue on the airbag thingie, if there is i am sure the forums will be flooded with topics where each Proton user posting that their airbag popped out and cursing P1. Moreover the airbags and wiring modules all were not made by Proton but was supplied by Autoliv AB from Sweden if i am not mistaken.
