Sourceplaza.com unveils how to verify your online suppliers

With the development of technology and information, traditional trading pattern has been changed step by step, more and more individual people wish to import products on their own,not just big amount, but for one single piece cost only for a few dollars, could this be possible? the answer is yes.

It's quite different to shop online than to do from those traditional stores, where you can check every details of the products you like before you pay, but on the online store, what you can check is only some descriptions and a picture of the product, so how to verify an online suppliers who you never know becomes critical, here are some tips on how to verify a supplier you are trying to use, just to help shorten the amount of threads about who's legal and who is not

1. Officially registered?

Try to find out if it is just an online store? Or it's already registered by local goverment, normally registered website has Business License issued by government, they are actually operated in the name of limited company which has a definite organization and a legal representative, a fixed site for setting up an office and for conducting business operations with orgonized management structure etc.

2. Is the price realistic?

Try to calm down and be cautious when there is something sounds too good to be true, probably the price is the No.1 reason that get people scammed,it's just the attractive price that appeal to people's personal sense of greed and make people lose all common sense and become naive. You can check the average price on some official websites to see if the price looks real, to make a few times more than your original investment then you have to be very cautious because 9 times out of 10 that margin is impossible.

3. The price seems okay, but I just want to do a few more investigation to make sure it's safe

If you are really assured that who you are using are legit, then try to send some emails and ask a few deeper questions about the product you want to buy rather than price and delivery etc, if they can answer professionally then chances are they aren't trying to pull anything. You can even sign up to newsletters and check the efficiency of how frequent they are sending them out and how professional they are.

4. Try to use some search engine like Google and trade forum Alibaba.

Try to do some check on Google or the forum like Alibaba. Type the supplier name and plus scam and see if anything comes up. It doesn't always work but could be able to save you a lot of time. You won't always find many people saying how great it is because suppliers too most people are treated like children. They are not given away at any costs and are worth potentially a lot of money to the right people, hence the reluctance of people giving them away.

5. Is the Payment secure?

For new suppliers, try to pay with a credit card through PayPal which is arguably the safest way, always be cautious when using West Union or wire transfer even after a relationship has been built as you never know what sort of situation the supplier is in at the other end of the world.

6. Quanlity guaranteed? What's their return & refund policy?

When you try to order something online, always find out is there any warranty for the product you buy? and is the return policy clear in black and white? A professional website always keeps customer experience as priority, not always for their own purpose.

7. still feel taken in?

If you still fell taken in, then try to contact the supllier by means whatever you can, for some suppliers, they cheer up for your orders but seems disappered once they got your money, or they often ignore your questions if there is a problem. However you have to appreciate that for most of suppliers out there who are legal, they are willing to keep the communication channels open to try to fix any problems, becuase they cherish their business reputation rather than money, and they want to do business in a long run not just one-time deal, so do remember NOT ALL new websites are scams.
