Hi, looking for a easy to use wifi repeater/ extender to improve reception of my unifi (D-link wifi router). Am looking at the WL556E Aztech - as i want something that I can just plug in to a spare outlet. Do I just plug in & it will boost all the nearby wifi signals, or is there some set up that needs to be done? Other than WL556E, anything else similar (ie, easy to use & can plug into a power outlet) that can use with my unifi router? Please PM

Hi,

I have been using Streamyx 4mb for the past 2.5 years (unipack package).
I live in a 2 storey house.
The modem, D-Link (DSL-2640B) is located upstairs at the upper living room by the window (facing garden).

There is hardly any signal when I'm downstairs, 1 bar at best.

What do you suggest?
1) wifi-repeater and put it downstairs
2) buy new modem
3) any other solution?

I'm not an IT guy so what is the easiest option for me without having to download firmware or anything complicated like that?

ps. I saw a few ads where the wifi-repeater has a 150mb or 300mb capability. We don't need 300mb right since the highest Malaysia has is 100mb (time). Or is that non related?
