Hi, sorry for bumping an old thread, but seriously, got a lot of invaluable info in here ! Thank you TS and all the owners for sharing !

Just a small question; could any PS3 owners here with R3 games share where their games are made ? Many thanks in advance ! It should say on the label side of the disc, or on back of the casing.

For example, if your game is R2, it should say 'Made in Australia'. I don't own any R3 discs, so I have no clue. I'm guessing China or India, maybe Taiwan, but probably not Japan (but I could be wrong).

The reason why I'm asking is because not all PS3 games are manufactured with the same quality standards. Just like DVD-R and BD-R discs, some vendors (Verbatim especially) make them better than others. Unfortunately, this is not common knowledge, most owners think all PS3 games are manufactured to the exact same standards. I'm assuming the difference in pricing must be due to the import tax.

The same is true for 360, XOne and PS4 games.

I see, thanks for confirming man. smile.gif I found this very informative thread a few days back, good info for those who are interested in more technical stuff. So far, it seems that Sony makes their PS3 games in U.S., Australia, Austria, Japan and maybe Mexico and Brazil too.

I'm sure Sony solved the disc cracking issue a long time now, this is quite an old thread. But still, very useful thread for all those PS3 game collectors out there. smile.gif
