Did anyone recently surveyed about new xbox 360?

While I'm looking for an original asian set of xbox 360, I found most of the game shop do not have stock or only modded machines while who have stock will try to sell it in a higher price.

Anyone have any clue why there's a shortage of original xbox 360?

I think the scenario is like this all the while. The only shop that has stock readily available is GH. Other shops, most probably u have to order from them, because they need to request from their supplier not to mod them.

or another easy way... bring a empty bag to SG... but from there... store your xbox inside... and walk over the custom...
woodlands M'sia side mostly they will not check you...
just act normal like them travel everyday... wink.gif
i changed my xbox there 3 times... never been inspected b4...
BTW i brought over inside my back pack...

Another time where i go pass tuas... i brought my sister computer back... they also did not ask anything...
if they ask just tell them you shift back from SG... or help ur sister or bro shift back things... easy...

......So i'm considered lucky the time I had my precious original xbox360...

If brought from GH, I'd prefer to drive myself to SG.

I don't mind if they wanna charge some less than RM20 of tax... But I do mind the hassle to go to SG.....

Even if inspected, you can show the letter from Microsoft, it will be ok. I encountered this at Tanjung Pagar.
Our customs officer there seems to be more strict compared to the one at Causeway, if you by foot or bus. I brought around a new unopened PC + monitor there. They did ask what's inside, I just say PC and they'll let go. I do heard that PC stuff is exempted from tax, but I don't know for sure.

10% of the stuff worth is not that bad... nod.gif

I think the term is "IT gadget is exempted from tax".

Anyway I'm still charged for tax. but that's when I do postage.

I'm wondering if I buy a Singapore set, will it be cheaper than the retail price as I should not be taxed? LOL

Tech2 do have them previously. But they told me that for unknown reason, currently most of the stock in MY is modded.

Last time when i want to buy 360 also like that, all shops out of stock for the pro set, I was so pissed because the fact that I worked hard and spent months collecting money for the next gen and then it's not available when I want it? so I settled down with the basic set and fork out some more money for the 20gb HDD.

And then the Nintendo Wii, same issue, all the official store don't have them during January, so I had to wait till February to get my Wii, good thing I got the 360 to play during that time.

Gaming system & handphones is also IT gadget AFAIK.

But also AFAIK, only spareparts are exempted from tax. laptop from SG also taxable.

AFAIK that is not the case. PC items are exempted from tax. Someone in the Mobile Computing section bought a RM15k Alienware laptop from the UK (online ordering) and as expected it was tax free.
