QUOTE(michaelyii1988 @ Apr 30 2009, 09:18 AM) Zonda not limited production car rite?correct me if im wrong..im more to those limited cars like Enzo,MC12..or F430 16M those..or THE MOST expensive car like veyron.haha.i remember few years bac ago when i went to Beijing for vacation, there's a SLR in Mercedes showroom.my fren who oso like cars n oso went ther,he said that's the only SLR in china that time.lol.duno true or not. Zonda production is limited by how much the factory can output per year, which really isn't much, in the low double-digits until they moved to the new place. Each model has a fixed number of units. Zonda F, eg. limited to 35. Overall there's far far less Zondas in existence compared to Enzos, possibly less than half the Enzo population. If that's not limited, I don't know what is. |

QUOTE(DtG4207 @ May 20 2009, 03:57 PM) they are not very common yes and they are by all means great performance cars no doubt about that but to qualify to be a supercar or exotic requires the car to cross a certain boundary... zondas, enzos, veyrons... they are all built from the ground up to be speed monsters with mind blowing dimensions that makes even the dumbest of people regarding cars go WOW. M-series cars are all based on the platforms of their existing vehicles and are basically mass produced sports cars and those who do not know much about cars are likely unable to differentiate them from the non-M counterparts... i'm not saying they're not great showcases of automotive engineering, i'm a fan of BMW myself but they're simply not supercar material... what he said.also, the proliferation of rebadged/rekitted non-M cars has diluted its wow factor. that anyone with a few grand can take a regular E60 and whip it into a M5 lookalike, and fool most people who don't know otherwise, or are unable to glimpse the telltale power buttons, big brakes or diff, makes M cars here a bit meh. I didn't use to think so, because I too am a fan, but with the M5 and M6 hitting their end of life stage, prices have dropped and there are more than a few of them running around. Not really that rare anymore, and not really that exotic, as the quoted text above puts so nicely. The problem here, and it is a recurring issue, is that everyone's idea of what constitutes a supercar is relative. For someone who is familiar with the rarefied stratosphere of true supercars, sportcars hold no distinction. For those who are exposed to more ordinary vehicles, a sportscar would appear to be an exotic. For those who think Tokyo Drift is a far better movie than the Godfather, a tuned monster would take the cake. Perceptions don't change easily, so we're probably going to have the 'it doesn't belong here' thing keep coming up. |

QUOTE(caerulln @ Jun 24 2009, 03:36 AM) quite. don't tell anyone adding another one from Milan, I took this on via MontenapoleoneThe thing about that 599 is, it probably is the only car that is clean in Italy. Every single car that I saw there is dirty like never been washed since they bought it. BMW, audi, alfa, all are so dusty & many of them were ridden with bird dropping. I saw a very new bmw 3 coupe bombed by birds worse than pearl harbor. Still can't figure out why. Probably no space to wash car or water too expensive. Mind u, most toilets in the cities cost 1 euro to enter. That's five freakin ringgit just to pee Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(infinityKL @ Aug 10 2009, 02:10 PM) Would you consider a big redneck american in a stained wifebeater and dirty jeans and a thick bushy beard holding a shotgun while chewing/spitting tobacco after hunting down a full grown adult moose exotic? Kidding Hummers aren't common, and they aren't exotic either, tbh. |
