Hey guys, I don't know if this is considered to be in this section. But my car is no where to be found in Malaysia, from what I observed so far lol! I'm from Kota Kinabalu, I'm currently studying in Houston, TX and these are shots of my car I drive in Houston. The Lexus IS-F.

Let me know what you think!

Def not a supercar... but can be exotic...

How come u got the ISF? It doesn't handle as great as the M3 nor does it sound as sick as the C63.
*
First off, both are German cars. German = HIGH Maintenance
Then, M3s are all over the road and C63 looks like a normal Merc but with a quad exhaust and a body kit.
As for the IS-F, I like the color and production is very limited. It's also 8 speed and the F is definitely a tad bit faster than the M3. All 3 cars have their good and bad. I've also been a long time loyal Japanese car owner, I've only had 3 German cars in my life and they all caused alot of problems. Malaysians are very "sei pan", they like Toyotas.

Yeah cars are cheap.
Insurance kills it though.
But with the salary there, u can probably pay it with a day or two job  biggrin.gif

Well, not really. If I was to have a normal job, I wouldn't be able to afford this car. I'm glad I have a very recession proof job though, drumming teacher! Besides that, I have scholarship for school and all that stuff. Cars are amazingly cheap here, but insurance is hell. I'm actually looking into getting the new Camaro (Bumblebee) as well and actually ship it back to Malaysia. But then again, I definitely get alot of attention driving around due to the color and the very rare sight of an IS-F on the road. You actually see more GT-Rs than the F here.

Working there, buying a nice car is not much a problem i guess. Just need to watch the insurance.
Not an exotic or supercar but still a very nice car.
I'd take an E92 M3 for the price though smile.gif

That got to be very expensive.
Not to mention roadtax for the 6.2 liter motor (assuming u want the SS) rclxub.gif

Hahaha! Well, all 3 cars are pretty much the same price. Maybe like 1 or 2000 difference.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But from what I've heard, you can keep the car for like 4 years and they won't tax? I was thinking to bring back an American car before I go back to Malaysia to work. Like a Mustang, Corvette or Camaro. Very boring seeing all those STI, Evos, Fairladies around. I have a Fairlady myself in KK and it's painful to see them everywhere now. But then again the Fairlady is still a very good looking car and it's still a chick magnet!

How much is an IS-F cost? I like IS-F with WALD body kit
*
Hahaha! That's my friend's IS-F! And yes that's the only IS-F in Malaysia. He brought it in from UK, about RM590,000. I have an IS-F as well if you read the whole thread earlier, but mine's in the US.

Yours is not the only IS-F here, as I've said before, a friend of mine saw and took a picture of a white one a few days back. And he's a proper car nut as well, won't be fooled by fake mod jobs.

Nice car you have there btw. I don't like the looks, but I can sure appreciate the combination of raw power and luxury. Had a blast with it in New Zealand a couple of months back, though ultimately I'd still prefer an E46 M3 CS or an RS4 over it. Somehow the 8-speed automatic gearbox doesn't cut it for me, haha.

RM590k is quite a decent price for the car though, given that the much cheaper (in the UK at least) E46 M3 CS I once considered was going for RM560k, and the equally priced (again in the UK) E92 M3 is RM723k.

And the F in the name doesn't stand for flagship mate. It's Fuji, as in the Toyota-owned racetrack.

As far as M3 vs IS-F, both have their cons and pros. The IS-F has a nice little feature called "Sport" mode and "VSC off" which I'm assuming most car reviewers don't know. Those are the features that'll power up the F and give it a head on competition with the M3. Not to mention, I've gone head to head with a Lamborghini Gallardo before and I'm surprised how I gave the exotic car a good run, the owner even gave me a thumbs up.

As for looks, the F has a lot of potential to be a head turner. It's an IS with a widebody kit on it, and a engine on steroids. Throw in some wheels, give it a drop, some LEDs and HIDs, the car is a head turner. Then again, you'll never go wrong with Japanese. The M3 is a great car, but the F costs less for maintenance and has better gas mileage!
