wonder y my ta790gx 128 cant go above 275mhz coreclock...
even increase vcore, low dimm seting,ht lowerd, all doesnt work...
can help sifu.... especially u xiukeong...used the mobo before right...
even the "t series" before post screen become rosak2..like many noise... like gc hang..

I can't get pass 249HTT....can POST if i put 250... sad.gif

Owh well...nevermind as I'm more favorable towards tighter timings....which usually results on a lower HTT/Ram speed value...

Attached Image

At the time of typing, I'm doing another burning session as I replaced the thermal paste from stock to CM Nano Fusion...Max Temp for 1.3v now at 60c even after full load more than 2 Hours...before this I get around >60c...

Ram timings also was tighten up, Voltage lowered to 2.0v and HTT was put at 225....Vcore 1.3v HT/NB 1.2v thumbup.gif

I'm currently at the stage of learning my ram and mobo max settings...I always save the CPU max clock for last....because the most important is the ram and mobo...If they proved to be reliable and strong, then a low overclock CPU will be easily define as hitting the wall of it... thumbup.gif sweat.gif

My mobo is TA790 128M...Rams is KHX 2GB DDR800....heatsinks stock!!! sweat.gif

250htt on 7750BE should be doable with some tweaks, d higher prime stable i managed was 267HT w/ moderate ram freq, i believe thre'll be better mileage if lower ram divider is in use. most agena can't really do htt > 300 unless it's a gem. smile.gif

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...=post&id=879095

btw, nice volt w/ that kinda timin & freq... thumbup.gif

what i meant was d stability issue w/ high multi such as 20x bro. i found that it's quite hard to go for d extra miles when high multi is in use.  smile.gif

waitin for more results from u then...  thumbup.gif

Sorry to say,it doesn't make sense at all.
Overclocking by changing multiplier only brings least burden to your board & ram and it should be much stable method.
You can even do very good oc with chaplang mobo & ram.
In the other way, oc with increasing HTT involves your board and ram. You think things will become easier when more complicated stuffs added in? tongue.gif
In my case, it's either insufficient vcore or overheated. Will figure it out tonight.
No offense, just to point out the right fact.

dblooi is right. Of all the overclocking I've done, the multiplier doesn't give stability issues or in short, it shouldn't be the determining factor for instability. In fact, it's easier to have a high multi with low FSB combination.

Btw, I read about the new Phenom hitting 4Ghz. Is it easy to achieve? smile.gif

no offense taken bro, i mentioned it becoz i encountered d scenario myself. d lower multis i'm referrin to are not low multis like 10 - 14 which require one to do high htt like 250 or 300. for eg, on 7750BE, i can't hit 3.3GHz w/ 16.5 * 200htt, d setup was bootable but very unstable regardless d temp (< 60'c)/volt (<1.6v). but w/ "lower multi (that i mean)", i was able to do prime stable @ 3.3GHz w/ 15 * 220htt. any multi > 16 was as gud as nothing to me back then when i still own d chip. w/ lite htt oc like 220 things are not that complicated at all. smile.gif

i've seen some heavy oc done in xs that involve mix of "lower multi (that i mean)" & lite htt oc. so w/ my own experience backed by some examples that i read i took d risk to make suggestions to some of d guys here. tongue.gif

but as we all knew, oc mileage for everyone is diff, even w/ same piece of hardwares one mite not get d exact result as others. wink.gif

cheers biggrin.gif

i dun have d luxury of tryin a$u$ board bro, financially not allowed coz i'm not single & w/ limited income, i need to think of some other things while keepin myself happy (obviously gud hardwares). i'm nowhere near bro dblooi & bro clawhammer (otai since k7 era), i'm just voicin out my suggestions as an user only... nod.gif

of all those that i manage to try were abit ax78, biostar 790gx a2+ & d loan unit in 790gx3. dfi was d furthest that my wallet can afford, no regret thou d board is no longer w/ me now. smile.gif

4GHz achievable ( check my previous post) however not stable yet,
Will try again tonight, let's see whether it's good for daily usage @ 4GHz.

No worries bro ah_khoo biggrin.gif We're all learning together and next time it's your turn to teach me how to overclock a Phenom. I've lost track totally about AMD's.

dblooi, you've used both Intel and AMD so do you think the current Phenom is faster? Worth to jump camp? biggrin.gif
