hi.. i have a otb 3.1 unlocked maxis 16gb 3gs. So can i just update to 3.1.2 using itunes then jb using blackrain? or i need to use this pawnage tool to update?

anything i need to backup ? so i juz update to 3.1.2 using itunes then follow the guides for black rain right? m updating t0 3.1.2 now.. taking so long -.-
