What happens if redsn0w hangs at "Waiting for reboot..."?

If it is the very first "Waiting for reboot..." and either Windows or Linux is the operating system, then all you have to do is unplug and replug in the iphone. This is a problem generally caused by using a USB hub instead of directly plugging the iPhone into the computer.

If it is the SECOND "Waiting for reboot...", this is a known issue. Occasionally the second iBSS crashes. Dev Team have not yet been able to ascertain the reason. Exit out of redsn0w. You must turn off the iPhone and then re-enter DFU mode using the normal steps. Then, re-run redsn0w 0.3. It will probably work then.

This should work..

To use redsn0w simply upgrade the device in iTunes to firmware version 3.0 and run redsn0w to activate and jailbreak the device (and if you are using an original iPhone 2G, it will unlock it too!)

That old method.. They change on step 8 already for redsnow 0.8
dont use 0.7

2. when the redsnow 0.8 ask u in the step 5. Just point firmware 3.0

Use flashget or any download manager u had..

You need iPhone3gs ipsw.
U can't use iPhone 3g Ipsw version.

As many of you already know, I am releasing a jailbreak called blackra1n. What many of you don't know is that I'm releasing it tonight! At 4AM EST, I want to see the topic "#blackra1n" trending on twitter. Once I see it trending, I'll put the download link up on blackra1n.com ... Isn't viral "marketing" cool :-)

So, what is blackra1n? blackra1n is a 30 second ALL device 3.1.2 jailbreak. Even the ipt3, but the ipt3 is tethered. In order to boot it, just rerun blackra1n. As far as donations go, they are much appreciated, but not until after blackra1n works for you. I never ask for donations before the tool is released.

Warning 3g and 3gs unlockers, do not upgrade to 3.1.2 using iTunes if you want to keep your unlock. Baseband cannot be downgraded. Check out the dev team's offerings. Also blackra1n doesn't hacktivate.

blackra1n.com got a quarter million unique hits, and that's without any content. This jailbreak is going to be huge!!!

This blackra1n dont unlock ur sim device
blackra1n will only jailbreak officially unlocked iphones like maxis, singtel etc..

and do backup ur crucial data, like contact and etc...

If u use maxis set (Unlock Set). That it can be use any line.

When u update new firmware, U will lose ur jailbreak.
U need to install it back. unless u buy PkgBackup from cydia.. can restore the ur jailbreak apps..

Just update, when the update finish, click make this "iphone as a new set".
and this will proceed to activate ur iphone.. bla..bla.. (Just accept it)

after clear all this for update, now proceed to blackra1n..

This will make ur iphone more refreshing.. Hehe...
To clear ur the battery and etc syndrome..

Update: geohot released a Windows jailbreak called “blackra1n” which is similar to redsn0w in that it covers multiple devices (and it covers beyond just firmware 3.0.1 where redsn0w currently stops).  blackra1n is not a carrier unlock.  You must always avoid updating your baseband to maintain your unlockability.  If you use blackra1n to jailbreak 3.1 or 3.1.2, the steps you take before running blackra1n will prevent the unlock from working on your iPhone for potentially a very long time. By the way, we haven’t yet tested whether a blackra1n’d device can accept a custom IPSW without tweaks, but if it doesn’t then it should only require a minor change.
So the lock device, stay away blackra1n... this update will update ur baseband.
Until further notice from Geo..

So unlock device, come and get it! Haha..

Nooo... dont use it. if u lock device.. i warn u..

for lock device.. alternative firmware 3.1.2 for u is pwnagetools
that create custom firmware. By using this tools, the baseband will stay 4.46.08
