Hi,

I am still confuse with this ECID SHSH on file and would like to seek clarification. I have already patch my my host file that points to Saurik server.

iPhone Model: 3GS 16GB
Firmware: 3.0.1 - already jailbreak

In Cydia I have this message:

"This device has a 3.1 ECID SHSH on file"

Does this mean I can restore back to OS 3.0 or 3.0.1 if I screw up my iPhone OS.

Help a friend setting up his New Macbook Pro with VMWare Fusion for WinXP so that he can run IE for On Line trading.... hehe actually I was taking this chance to prepare the iPhone 3GS 3.1 custom restore file .

Created with Pwnagetool 3.1.3 a Firmware 3.1 Custom Restore with the following :-

Partition: 801MB
No Activation
OpenSSH
OpenSSL
Cydia
No custom logo..

and 10 minutes later I got myself a Custom 3.1 restore file. Now to check around if anyone has any issue before I proceed to upgrade my iPhone 3GS 16GB currently on 3.0.1.

Now that I have the Custom 3.1 file, I should be able to on my Windows iTune 8.2 by doing a Shift Restore and select the file that I create to upgrade to 3.1 already jailbreak since I am not upgrade the Baseband.

Now all the sifu out there please correct me if I am wrong. Still not yet do that .

Hi,

Just upgrade a friends new 3GS to 3.1.2 and Jailbreak it successfully. Its seems to work well and still looks and runs the same as my 3GS 3.0.1 now.

Been itching to upgrade but the though of reinstalling all those freeware and cydia utilities is holding me back.

Unfortunately I do not have enough time to play with the 3.1.2 fw long enough. So I need input... INPUT...

Is the battery life better ?
Any big feature ?
Runs faster ??

Hi,

A friend of mine also just call me, he tried to JB his 3G in the office but same result. He check the blackra1n log and it seems it cannot detact the phone via the USB. I suggest that he use another PC. Yet to hear from him.

Hi Matt,

Just off the phone with this friend with this issue, after long chat and what happen. It seems when he runs blackra1n and the phone connected itune launches it self and itune already take charge of the USB port so blackra1n cannot detect the phone. I suggest that he quickly closes itune when blackra1n waiting for phone to reboot. He did it 3 times and after the 3rd time he closes it quickly enough and blackra1n was able to deploy. JB on his 3G 3.1.2 is OK.
