For those of you who are having trouble with RedSnow 0.8, its a no big deal actually. The software is not designed for ipsw of 3.0.1 thus it reacts strangely towards it. So, all we need to do when we are stuck at the 'waiting to reboot' screen, just quickly, yes, quickly plug the USB cable from the iphone, and plug it back in within an instant. It worked for me, on the second try! Just keep doing it, and they iPhone will reboot, with the pineapple icon ' downloading the jailbreak data '. Don't be distressed over this. I just successfully upgrade from a 2G iPhone 8GB from OS3.0 to OS3.0.1.
Hope it helps.

I have jailbroken my iPhone on 3.0.1, so all i have to do is just download the original firmware from apple, and upgrade. And the phone will still be unlocked? Is that what you are trying to say?

You need to re-jailbreak your iPhone. Please do state which iPhone you have, so that methods or procedure to re-jailbreak and unlock your iPhone can be done. All i can say is that if you own a 3GS. You're screwed, cause you might have to stick to the original firmware and unlock the iPhone via internet.

Does push notifications work efficiently on the iPhone 2G?
Terence, you're on windows or mac? Sometimes, the ipsw file you downloaded is corrupted, or could be the extension is under .zip , so u need to rename it. You need to provide more information.

If its officially unlock, then you could just go to iTunes, and connec it to the internet, and voila, the iPhone would be unlocked as simple as that. Even if you update it to the original firmware, i guess it would still be locked, because your set is not officially unlocked by the service provider. Or is it because of the baseband has been updated. You should have checked the iPhone Jailbreak thread before you have done your upgrading. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1013541

His case is even worse than the iPhone has transformed to be an iTouch, because it doesnt work at all.
So, it is currently just another brick, or a doorstopper because it wont work. Unless, if you're lucky enough, the devs would come up with an unlocker to downgrade your baseband.

You cant call out? It is weird mate. I used PwnageTool on mine, and it works like a charm, and completely flawless i must say Why don't you troubleshoot, and tell us the result. One thing you could do is to reset the network settings, or perform a full network reset.
