nope, my phone is still on 3.0
planning to upgrade to 3.1.2 using Pwnage
so all i have to do is tick the "Activate the phone" as it is asked in tutorial right?

got confused because some people said that pwnage only jailbreak only

u r welcome...dun worry bro....the safest for me is to use pwnagetool....because it doesnt update the baseband and it can control the activated and unactivated for iphone. after u have restore ur phone...open cydia and add ultrasn0w repo....

I think better u go to YouTube and watch a few more video before u start.

what is the purpose of ultrasn0 repo?

to unlock ur carrier of course (for lock phone)....if ur phone is official unlock...no need the add repo and no need to select activated in pwnagetools.

oww, just by ticking activate in pwnagetools doest unlock the phone yet

when you guys mention baseband i assume it means modem firmware, then my baseband is 05.11.07. i just updated my iphone 3gs to version 3.1.2 then i realized baseband 05.11.07. is still unjailbreakable. But it seem that a lot of forumers have already jailbreak 3.1.2 using blackra1n, what's your baseband? i thought when we update to version 3.1.2 it will also update the baseband to 05.11.07 . then how's is it possible that you guys still able to jailbreak it? sorry for the noob question cos i just got my iphone 2 days ago from maxis. i need to jailbreak it asap.

like me...i also update my phone to 3.1.2...but the software that we use can preserved the FW from updating the baseband....but the thing is....u have maxis set and it is official unlock...so u dont need to unlock your carrier anymore...u just need to jailbreak it using blackrain. no need to worry bro if u have maxis set....

i have a iphone 3g now facing some kind of problem hope that can help me to fix it..

so is like this, after update through itunes to 3.1 then downgrade again to 3.0 after this i JB again but after that my phone can't detect the sim card at all.. any idea how to fix this problem??

should i do a restore first then JB and unlock it again..

the iphone 3g model mb501mg and current modem firmware is 05.11.07

i not sure is locked and unlock set.. who can help me double confirm it?

i am sorry, yours is a Hungary set and it is locked. that baseband cannot be unlocked at the moment.

Some good news coming from GeoHot, for all the users that updated to firmware 3.1.2 and also updated their baseband. George is working on a iPhone unlock called BlackSn0w and it seems his getting closer to finding a solution.

If you take a look at the picture above, you can read the following:

Don’t expect Blacksn0w to be released in the next couple of days tho, because GeoHot said on twitter that it is still ways away. However, judging by how buggy is blackra1n, i really hope the iPhone DevTeam is close on finding a solution as well, and they will update ultrasn0w soon.

As soon as we have more info on Blacksn0w, or iPhone unlock we will keep you updated. Stay tuned…

Good news for unofficial set.

Just contact my official iPhone carrier , They will send me my unlock thingy in 24-48 hours @.@ . I'm considering using Blackra1n to jailbreak it after that , But is it getting really buggy since the released date ?
