mine bold 9000.can't turn on wifi.is it because i don't activated BIS? last month it still working fine.

Yes, you can use wifi, not use gprs, 3g, etc. To do so you need to go to the options in your blackberry, enable data transfer, but disable radio (the term for all the 3g, edge, gprs thingy) and then connect to wifi. roaming users do this often.

oh then why do we have to disable the radio here then?

Hiya guys a noob question here, my friend just bought a bberry curve 3g phone & she's using it with her maxis line, how to set the blackberry curve 3g setting so that she can use mms & surf internet? Tried looking for the setting at maxis website but couldn't find it and also using the auto phone config on maxis website doesn't listed any bberry phone.. thanx

does tis mean bb can use wifi without data plan?

The device detect edge/3g but everytime i send her an MMS it will fail to reach her, maxis will just send her a msg stating bout my mms & she need to access it using computer
If we don't have that BIS from maxis? Cannot do mms or just regular web browsing like on normal handphone eh? demmm

I just Got MY BB 9000..
Then on the 1st day i activated BIS .. the RM2 per day one.. i tested BBM and all other all works.. then before 12am i stopped the service.. so no more bis and no more using internet.. then i left my phone then i went for sleep.. the next day, when i checked my balance it left 0.07 sens .. earlier after i stopped BIS was RM5 .. Then i was like shocked.. then i called Customer Service .. they told u used internet @ 3am 4am 11am .. for that they cut my balance.. i was like i was sleeping that time how can i use internet ? any help guys ?

During my 1st 3 days of owning the Bold 9700, it went dead just like that after one fine morning as I woke up from my sleep.
Got a replacement cz device issue.

That didn’t stop there as well, less then 1 month later, the device died on me again.  This time not only it auto reboots every morning and evening, it also freezes every time a notification came in.

But now, after 7 months on the replacement Bold 9700, the same symptoms appear; it auto reboots on occasional days, but a few times in 1 day, it also freezes on occasional notifications or at certain applications, unable to detect my memory card (causing me to always repair the card – even though the is no issues with the card), and worst still – drop calls.

How can a 1yrs old berry be that way. what utilize & maintenance you rant about? the only 3rd part app i use id FB, Twitter & WhatsApp. you tell me?

i learnt so much from troubleshooting the berry it scares the tech at svc centers.
