Yeah... the new ASV panel looks better. No wonder, their are leading the way in LCD panel.

And they are priced cheaper too.

I am waiting for the Panasonic new 50" full hd plasma but I heard that they will only be release at the end of the year. One thing that worries me about the new plasma from pana is that many owners here say that the screen is really very reflective. I really hate reflective screen as my compact laptop has those reflective screen and they are really pain to watch. The last gen pana plasma have pretty good anti-reflection coating but heard that the 2009 plasma model from pana is worst. I wonder how true is that as I have not seen the 2009 pana plasma yet.

I hope I won't be waiting for the 2009 pana plasma only to be turn off be the reflective screen. Or I can just buy the sharp now.

I read a number of reviews from CNET Asia and others. A77 provides HD film like resolutions, good black (but not as good as Samsung) but rather soft on SD sources and just average 100Hz performance. Another put it as one of the top choices due the price. I have ordered the 46" one at RM5499 compared to over 8k when it was first launched.

I would have go for Pana plasma (which is cheap now) or Sony or Samsung but for the price of 6k plus. I'm particular about reflection...which I read plasma and the current Samsung panels are prone to. My TV faces a huge sliding door which would get plenty of reflection during day time!

Any advice? I'm also concerned about Astro viewing - I know would be a problem but does it matter which brand has an advantage viewing Astro?

I am one that is very particular about screen reflection, but I have to say that the 50S10 surprisingly is not bad at all. See my setup in the gaming or HT setup page and I can say I am not at all bother by the reflection at all cos its really very minimal. After watching plasma I am very confident to say its much better than LCD in terms of color and blacks. They are just much better.
