[Ubuntu] Sound Problem HP CQ40, Audio does not work

I have read some of ubuntu forum regarding my problem.
The audio does not work as it suppose to. i refer to this website = http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1049363 unfortunately, it doesn't help much the problem is, regarding to the solution in that forum, i found nothing written at the alsa-base... so i cannot add the code into final of the code. any better solution? |

Did you try inserting the line in? Not all conf files have entries in them. Add the line, reboot, and see what happens.

Cannonfodder: thnx for ur help. i have tried. i was using 8.10. i tried to insert the line. and it worked. after that, i upgrade my ubuntu to 9.04 which is the latest one. and the problem comes again. however, i failed this time. is it because of the new ubuntu?

try putting the same line in "/etc/modprobe.d/options". make the file if it doesn't exist
