I went for architecture interviews in UM and UKM last week. Interviews are only applied on some professional courses such as medicine, dentistry, law and architecture, and also some linguistic courses in UM.

DOn't worry. Malaysia interview is not as harsh as in UK or USA. Most interviewee only talk casually and not as professional enough. if you talk respectfully and full of confidence with proper attire. I don't think there is any problem.

be sure to remember question like 'Why you pick this course?'. guarantee ask.

My STPM CGPA is 3.75. 1st choice: UM architecture, 2nd choice: UKM architecture. I heard that they will only interview you for your first and second choices. If you put courses which require an interview for 3rd choice onwards, you will not be called for the interview for that choice.

The UM interview was quite fast. 5 minutes each person. Before that we had to take a test: drawing + an essay, one hour. For the interview, there were 2 interviewers. They commented on my drawing. Then they asked questions like " Why do you choose architecture?" "Why do you put UM as your first choice?".

While for UKM, test in the morning, followed by an interview. The chief of the interview panel did comment on our clothing. Because on that day, there were two girls wearing t-shirts and with blonde hair. As a piece of advice, wear in formal when you attend local interviews. For the test, it's kinda crazy. 30 minutes for a drawing and an essay. I couldn't finish them. Wrote the essay last minute. Then because they wanted to finish the whole interview thing in one day, there were over 200 people there. Imagine how long it needed for my turn to be interviewed. Although there were 6 rooms, I still waited from 11.20 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.. When I was out from the interview room, everyone had gone. Before the interview, I was required to take a colour-blind test. During the interview, my drawing was commented again. Since I have no arts background at all, you can imagine how bad my drawing was. tongue.gif. There were 2 interviewers, which one of them was the chief of the interview panel. He asked for my CGPA. The interviewers told me that I have to learn drawing. Then they kept on saying UPU will decide which university I'll be admitted to. They also asked me which university I wanted to get in. I answered USM. But actually, I wanted NUS more. tongue.gif That's all I can share. smile.gif
