QUOTE(adrive @ Apr 25 2009, 12:04 PM)
wow fast! i asked a question from prev thread right before it ended! so.. :
hey guys, i was wondering. Most of the time when i switch to speakerphone mode during a call, the other party claims that he can't hear me quite well. Macam breaking.

anyone of you tried out speakerphone? it's just not as good as using the normal mic
*
Yes this is a recognized issue by Nokia and I went to NCC to ask them to repair it but they say all Nokia phones is like that when using loudspeaker.

QUOTE(myfriend @ Apr 26 2009, 11:06 PM)
guys, please suggest a good screen protector for 5800. thanks.
*
Skool Brand is teh best for me I feel. Its cheap (only RM6) and it doesn't scratch.

QUOTE(redscorpion @ Apr 27 2009, 02:41 AM)
phone holder for cars? if u dont mind the generic ones, u can find it at almost every phone shops  smile.gif
*
I don't suggest you guys to get a car holder because those thieves will think you have a GPS unit in the car and higher chance of break in.

QUOTE(tachlio @ Apr 27 2009, 09:26 AM)
rmb update to latest map in MFM.  smile.gif

first time log to satellite may need some time  laugh.gif
*
Yeap upgrading to the latest MFM map is always recommended and talking about that. MFM v1.55 is out today thumbup.gif

QUOTE(greyPJ @ Apr 27 2009, 10:31 AM)
need to ask 5800 users,

for incoming call, is it easy to enable speaker phone? after answering the call just one press on the screen?
thx.
*
Yeap there is a button on screen to activate loudspeaker. Very easy to use. Unlike Sony Ericsson phones where the option is hidden.

Hopefully when it releases you'll be able to update smile.gif

QUOTE(redscorpion @ Apr 29 2009, 08:53 PM)
@J-Slade : are u sure its overclocked? double check already? if so, then we may need to buy a proper heatsink for our tube now  laugh.gif
*
I think so lah.. thats why the tube is running so much smoother now

QUOTE(ysksky @ Apr 29 2009, 08:53 PM)
welcome back slade! wow. nvr notice. no wonder my garmin nvr crash.  drool.gif  thx for the info
*
lol is Garmin related to the CPU speed? I played the 3D racing game it is slightly smoother

QUOTE(icechiller555 @ Apr 29 2009, 09:04 PM)
Hey man,

Just installed the new phonetinfo.  Thanks.  Where did you see the clock speed in the program?  Cant seem to find it.
*
You need to scrool to the HAL section. To do that, u need to let the arrow appear. To do that.... u need to tilt ur phone to switch to either portrait/landscape once then the arrow will appear.

System seven is free too.  If using wifi.  It integrates well into the phone. Thats why not sure if I should change.  What are the pros of nokia messaging?
*
To me if SEVEN handles your emails well then stick with it. They are after all the same functionalities. But Nokia Messenging's interface seems pretty cool if you ask me. icon_rolleyes.gif

Bro the bigger your screen, the bigger your phone size. Right now the tube is just nice to fit in one hand and slip into my pocket. On the other hand, iPhone is kinda bulky for me.

She likes the look of the pink samsung phones, but I know those are quite basic and usually non symbian.  If only nokia releases the other version of our phone soon.  You know the one with a smaller screen and no gps.  Can get her a nice pink case to make it look pink wink.gif
*
Firstly, if she is not an application user, don't have to bother to use Symbian. Plus, symbian s60 don't have smileys. I am pretty sure girls want smileys in their phones.

If she is looking for the next cool pink phone I suggest getting a pink Sony Ericsson T707

its a damn cun SE phone.. plus, its a flip phone smile.gif

If I got money I'd get that phone for my gf.

btw I noticed a LOT of improvements in v21. My bluetooth headset no longer disconnects from my tube like it used to.

Ricky: Didn't u notice that I've stated Using 3.5G in not an issue to me.
Seems like u are not expert enough to answer my question.
*
Bro, its not about expert or not. He is just giving you advice. I would also recommend to keep trying until the wifi method works for several reasons. The data rate for 3G is not as fast and who knows, the connection might drop. But if u are already on the unlimited plan then go ahead and give it a try. Its about 3mb download for the firmware update.

go to notification light option and turn off breath light and it will stop light up, just keep event light on.

Wait, you mean breathing light and notification light is different? So what is the breathing light for? To show that the phone is switched on? unsure.gif

btw the update for v21 via NSU is 133mb but the update via FOTA is only 3mb. Anyone knows whats going on? Or is it that NSU contains the updates for those with v11 also to update?

Device unlock code can only be obtained from Garmin which is sold at USD$99 for each license.

It takes 10 seconds for the game to load ya so be patient.

awww man thats a bummer. anyway just wanting to share good stuff.

if you guys find anything also let us know k. Today I tried Morange. Its supposedly something like Fring but with a built in web browser.

My verdict: Sucks.. don't bother. The web browser doesn't render webpages like it should.

I got a feeling a lot of people going to be requesting for help to solve their Garmin unlock code issues during the gathering whistling.gif

Btw, I just want to say something real quick. Just a quick note to all tube users. Sometimes if you face a problem it doesn't mean other people here know the solution because the 'problem' may be just your tube only. Like me for example I am still not facing any problem with mine. No issues even upgraded to v21. Garmin still works fine. Everything still works fine.

So if you post a problem and if no one answers you, it is possible its just you OR that the same issue has been asked before and answered too many times. If that happens, just click to the v13 thread and so a search there. Other than that, I am pretty sure the frequent posters here will tell you the solution immediately. smile.gif

Guys, face the fact man.... without a dev cert, you will be very limited to the usage of your Symbian phone. So I recommend everyone to go OPDA and get your own dev cert. And the cert can be used for 3 years then after that you can change ur phone again.

Btw here's a quick thought for you. If you're wondering how come although the sales for Nokia 5800XM is so much higher than the iPhone but the apps are so little and only made available by rogue programmers here and there, don't worry because the Nokia OVI store will be opening mid of this month.

ETA will be around 11th May for certain users and 18th May for the rest of the world. And mind you the SDK for Symbian S60v5 has been distributed prior to that and soon you will see real apps that are comparable to the Apple store for the iPhone. Besides, the market is so huge compared to iPhone users. I am pretty sure software giants are waiting to market their product with all their potential Nokia 5800XM customers.

i want to ask somethin guys..
if we upload apps to symbian signed the apps..
is it long to wait for them to send back the link where we can download the signed apps??

happy.gif
*
It should be immediate or max also within 5 minutes because the procedure is automated.

QUOTE(Ataraxis @ May 4 2009, 12:09 AM)
only 3 years? after tat cant sign apps anymore? i think tats kinda inappropriate
*
after 3 years then you have to request for it again... if u sign an account with OPDA you are given 5 credits to created 5 certs. You can help you friend get a cert OR you can also keep them for the next years to come or in case you lose it. But do make sure you log in your OPDA account and post something otherwise they might remove ur account due to inactivity.
