Algae is the worst nigtmare for aquarist. Mine starting to grow brown and green algae. I think the green one is diatom. sticking the glass.

I am doing partial water change very 2 days. Some of the plants are getting rotten at the bottom. Probably not enough lights or CO2.

Actually just started my aquarium about 1.5 months ago.

the temperature is quite high cos the aquarium is not inside the house. Its located outside the house, just outside beside the door.

Have been regularly monitoring the water parameter and seems fine. Ammonia is 0, nitrite less than 3mg and nitrate is low too.

Have been changing 20% water 2 days once. Fishes are doing fine though.

It might lack co2. Thought of doing a diy co2 using yeast and sugar. Think it will work?

Thanks

rotting plants = more ammonia..
changing water helps, but it only solve the prob temporarily..

just started your tank? i would say, its not fully cycled.. also, look more in to beneficial bacteria colonization..

Thanks bro, testing the ammonia level..zero. Nitrite below 3mg. PH around 7.5. Temp is high though because putting outisde of the house. have to move it inside the house. I am using those stick-on type temp indicator and it's always pointing to the highest.

regards

Nah, "temperature is quite high" answer ain't gonna work. Try celcius LOL... That may be the cause of it, try getting it around 28C or below ? Also, how's the filter?

I am using those stick-on type and it's always pointing to the highest except at night it lower down a bit. Could be temp problem? I am using borme type of substrate, told it's river type or something. Then i added some fertz that consist od iron and others mineral. The plant are growing new leaves and branches on top but rots at the bottom.

Color are from bright green turning to dark green.

thanks
