I added my livestocks one day after setting up my new tank. I guess the substrate also plays a part in cycling periods if I am not mistaken. Lol, was just testing the water and surprisingly the livestocks are doing quite well. =)

The *suppose to be dead* livestock i added in are suppose to cycle the tank faster .. I have read it somewhere, so was trying to learn other methods such as this and also going to do the dry planting method. My first tank was cycled close to 2 months.

I have 3 fishes in the 2ft tank .. Yea, it's suppose to boost up the cycling process, but I don't know how fast.

Since you already added the wood, just continue with it. You can have fissiden, mini pelia, mosses on the wood which would be quite nice. But I personally feel you don't have a focus point as your left side seems abit heavy but the right side have a big giant rock for iwagumi perspective.

just my 2 sen + 1 sen

I don't think you should be thinking whether the SAE will eat the algae but to think why is the algae blooming? Could it be that there is too much nutrition in there? Too many slow growing plants? Too high lighting? Think think think..
