I think too much focus on the hit zone these days.. plus very unforgiving scoring system. I like something I can pick up and play without learning much, but most shmups nowadays are memory tests sad.gif

I think the last shmup released that focus more on skills/reflex rather than memory/exploitation was Gigawing

Not really hard, but requires lots of memorization.. in fact I find this apply to all horizontal shmups, all depends on memorization, except Sengoku Blade nod.gif
