Yea it sure does.

Because by that also we are enjoying and can tell ourselves that " Oh! I am getting paid, so must play well".

If free, we would tell " SO wat, its not a competiton or like i am getting paid."

Drummer as in performing, I would say yes! It pays...

But with the corruption these days, you'll get the pay for your petrol only then..

To survive in music industry, you gotta have other skills such as performing other instruments, can sing while playing your instrument, able to conduct session recordings, music programming etc..

Relying on performing alone doesn't pay that good..
