hmm actually i've read a few tutorials online that says scrolling does help oso.. but it doesnt work for me

hmm, picture are usually the default 1..i just used the modded 1 though ;D....does not need scrolling though :3...

by way, the designing of psp3k6 is had mic right?

why do not have the msn software for psp3k? i think msn more user frenly than skype since the psp 3k6 design a mic there...

PSP3k / PSP2k v3: Installing ChickHEN R2 mod2 for Firmware 5.03 & Custom Firmware Enabler 3.50

01) Make sure your official firmware is 5.03. To check, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software Version 5.03

If your official firmware is above 5.03, then bad news, you cannot install custom firmware. Sorry, the below guide will not work.

If your official firmware is already 5.03, you can proceed to Step 02.

If your official firmware is below 5.03, you must first upgrade to the official firmware to 5.03. Follow the following steps below before going to Step 02.

01a) Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/249978622/OFW_5.03.zip

01b) Extract OFW_5.03.zip into your PSP's memory card.

01c) It should look like this:-

<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\EBOOT.PBP

01d) Now you need to upgrade official firmware to 5.03. Put your memory card into your PSP with the files loaded above.

01e) Turn off your PSP. Press and hold the off button till it shutdowns.

01f) Turn on your PSP.

01g) Make sure your PSP battery is fully charged or the power adapter is connected.

01h) Go to your Games menu and open the Memory Stick icon.

01i) You should see the PSP Update ver 5.03. Press X on the PSP Update ver 5.03.

01j) Follow the instructions of the official firmware very carefully, and do not allow the process to get interrupted.

01k) Once done, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software Version 5.03

01l) Remove
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE
<Memory Card>\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\EBOOT.PBP

Installing ChickHEN

03) Extract ChickHEN_R2_mod2___Custom_Firmware_Enabler_3.50.zip into your PSP's memory card.

05) Now you need to get ChickHEN up and running. Put your memory card into your PSP with the files loaded above.

06) Turn off your PSP. Press and hold the off button till it shutdowns.

07) Turn on your PSP.

08) Go to your Photos menu and open the Memory Stick icon.

09) You should see the ChickHEN folder. Press X on the ChickHEN folder. Once you are in the folder, wait for all the images to load or immediately scroll all the way down (down button).

If your PSP screen suddenly goes weird and restarts, then you have successfully loaded ChickHEN. To check whether ChickHEN is loaded, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software 5.03 ChickHEN R2

If your PSP hangs or shutdown, then ChickHEN is dead and you need to go back to Step 06 till you get it right. Sometimes you may need to repeat these steps a few times before successfully loaded ChickHEN.

Installing Custom Firmware Enabler

10) Now you need to get Custom Firmware Enabler (CFWEnabler) running. CFWEnabler enables you to play backup / homebrew games.

11) Go to your Games menu and open the Memory Stick icon.

12) You should now see CFWEnabler 3.50. Press X on the CFWEnabler.

For the first time, in the CFWEnabler program, Click on Flash and Start. NOTE: This is only for the first time, you will not see this again if it is already installed.

For the second time onwards, pressing X will just restart your PSP.

13) Now you should have CFWEnabler successfully loaded. To check whether CFWEnabler is loaded, go to your System Settings menu -> System Information -> System Software 5.03 m33-6

14) At the PSP main screen, press Select, set, UMD ISO Mode = M33 driver.

15) You are now ready to go. Put backup / homebrew games into <Memory Card>\ISO folder and it will appear in your Games menu.

16) Once you have finished the game, just put your PSP into standby mode by pressing the off button quickly (don't hold).

17) If you have Off the PSP / changed battery / game crashed and shutdown, then go back to Step 06.

PSP Tip: How to sort backup / homebrew games in your Games menu?

PSP Games menu sorts the files based on file creation dates & time. Newest file on top and Older files below.

To sort it, all you need to do is to change the date & time creation for your backup / homebrew games.

There is this useful freeware utility where you can change the file created / modified / accessed dates easily.

You can sort the backup / homebrew games according to any order you want by changing the creation date & time.

For the example below, I want PSP Games menu to sort all my backup / homebrew games according to alphabetical order. So what I did was, set the date to the same day and change the minutes sequentially, from bottom up (which makes A - Homebrew Game the newest file and H - Homebrew Game the oldest file)

I'm using v4.21 so does it mean i hv to install all these 3 items in the following order which you had layout?

1) First upgrade firmware by following steps 01a - 01l
2) Then install chickHEN
3) Lastly install custom firmware enabler

I must complete all these before I can play homebrew games is it?

Yes

Step 01a to 01l - Do this only once.

Step 05 to 15 - Do this every time if you shutdown your PSP. So if you don't want to go through these steps again, just put your PSP on standby.

as for the cfw 3.5, somehow i tested..it does not work on some units :/

hey guys, please help, my psp3006 had crash from firmware again... i wonder use the step of auhckw , i had tried many many time. But still cannot, got any suggestion on that?

brother, i always go until the step of last image it hang and shut down auto

usually if using the chickhen r2 mod, it loads faster though, seldom hang/restarts...try not to scroll first to see if it works.

i found that i need to do system default only can load that chick, if not wouldn't load.
some more need to try two time only can...
