Hello everybody. Happy CNY. Any speed test and coverage test for uMobile? I plan to signup for the u28 postpaid plan. Currently a Hotlink user. Stay in Bandar Utama. Works in Mid Valley area.

Hi.  I used to use uMobile.  Couldn't load a page most of the time when i'm at mid valley (same case for other areas).  Switched to hotlink now.

Only did one speed test on uMobile around Ampang area:
Download: 99kbps
Upload: 80 kbps
Ping: 371 ms
Network: Edge

Thank you.

I'm currently on Hotlink prepaid. Usually I spend only about RM30 for top up. For internet, I have Streamyx unlimited package at RM66 per month. I'm looking to cut down my cost by terminating the TM fixed line, so I can save about RM26+ on the fixed line monthly charge.

I'm looking for a package about RM100 (being RM30 + RM66). I'd like this package to include about RM30 talk time or less, and unlimited internet bandwidth. I'm open to both suggestions on prepaid and postpaid. Does anybody know if such a package is available?

Edit: I use about 13GB bandwidth a month. I'm open to any service provider. I'll be terminating the fixed line and Streamyx. I'll then surf from my laptop with my handphone connecting to the internet and my laptop via bluetooth or wifi.

Thanks. I am open to any service provider as well. Not necessarily have to stick with Maxis. By the way, I use about 13GB of bandwidth a month. Hence, unlimited is important for me. Otherwise, I'd be paying through my nose for the internet access.

What happens when reach quota? I know Maxis will charge. So Maxis is very likely out of consideration.

How about other networks? They will limit the bandwidth after i reach the quota right? But how slow would it be when they limit it. Is it slower than 512kb? I'm using Streamyx 512 kb now.

unlimited is impossible for Maxis normal package.. smile.gif

others like Umbile, Digi, Celcom also cannot fulfil your requirement .. they do have quota 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 6GB, etc..

wow, that is bad.

Umobile looks interesting. I'll check out the Umobile thread and see if there's any user experience feedback on the cap.

that is normal  smile.gif

anyway...

Streamyx is still the best , for offering the unlimited internet bandwith/quota + stable..[the speed isn't the issue as 512kbps is still fast for normal browsing, youtube 240p/360p, downloading [up to 65kB/s]

anyway, I still remember that I was offered to upgrade my Streamyx from 512kbps to 1Mbps and pay only RM 71/month .. biggrin.gif , the upgrade is free.. but of course need to pay RM 5 higher per month.. [i think this is applicable for those who had subscribed Streamyx for more than 2 years]

I'm happy using Streamyx, at least no quota.. biggrin.gif

It's true, the Streamyx no quota is hard to beat. My package is RM66. I'm using about 13GB of data a month. But if I add on the fixed line monthly fee etc, my monthly bill is about RM96. So, in reality I am paying about RM96 for a 512kbps bandwidth with unlimited data. This is before including my RM30 monthly top up for my Hotlink. So I'm looking at option to cut down on my total internet + phone bill.

Need help propose a plan for me.

Currently using Maxis BES RM68. Used to be:
1. Unlimited internet.
2. Call charges pay as you use.
3. Allow multi-SIM to maximise the Unlimited internet.
4. Monthly bill about RM150 (RM68 data, RM30 two multi-SIM, RM50 calls)

Now, this plan has been capped to 4GB internet. And after this quota, the speed is ...... unbearable. Only 0.13 Mbps.

I'm looking for another plan. Could be one plan, or a combination of two plans (because my phone is Dual SIM).
1. Phone - dual SIM.
2. Multi-Sim for one home modem and another multi-SIM for one iPad.
3. Monthly combined data usage between 15GB to 20GB.

I'm going crazy rclxub.gif trying to figure out the most affordable plan or plans for my needs.
