Hello there people. Have a little questions here.

First, I applied for Celcom's Exec 50 mBasic plan. ( so it's RM 50 voice plan and RM 38 data plan) and I've a few questions regarding it. Am using Galaxy S2 by the way.

1. How to I check my current usage of data and voice plan? Is it only via internet to check?
Sorry i dun know this.

2. How do I actually activate my data plan (as in to use it). Is it by holding power button and select data network mode? If I do that, it'll have a up/down arrow icon with an E on top. Is that right?
You need to send the short code and reply the sms to confirm the activation of the data usage. But when u see the E/H with the up/down arrow icon blinking which mean your data is transfering.

3. Do I need to switch off the data network mode when I'm not using it?
This is advisable, as the smartphone will have tiny information to be transfer to the apps server.

4. If I use apps like latitude (which requires GPS), will it be charged into my voice plan or data plan or does it incur additional charges?
That will depend on your apps. Some apps might visit the server or internet to retrieve information.

Sorry if I seem like repeating some pretty common questions but some of the answers which I've found is rather old. And most doesn't even sound like an answer. Many thanks ahead! =]

Hope i clear your cloud...

So, you will / want to get a new phone right..?

Of course , if you are using that android phone,[such as Galaxy S2] , you need the data plan..

RM 4 calls in Maxis Value Plus 50 is around 22 minutes of calls [it is estimation]

Below is  Plan package.. -of course you need to pay for the device[depend on the telco]

1. If you choose that Digi Plan

RM 68 per month [from link that you give , you choose the Smart Plan 68 package] + [I estimate your call/sms usage = 22 mins X RM 0.15 + 400 SMS X RM 0.10 = RM 43.40 ] = RM 112.40 /month

2. So from the link that you give me for Digi , you choose 3GB data plan .. so, lets compare it with other telcos + your usage..

i. Celcom Exec 50 + 3GB data

22 mins X RM 0.15  + 400SMS X RM 0.12 = RM 51.30 + 3GB data = still RM 108 monthly commitment

ii. Maxis Value Plus 50 + 3GB data [RM 68/month] = RM 118
the above calculation is based on your last month usage , and it is my estimation.. wink.gif  sweat.gif

if you want to change, better change to Celcom .. for stable and fast connection.+ coverage  wink.gif

Bro,
Kindly consider U mobile if you are in Klang Valley and plan to use unlimited data plan with voice services. Value for money. RM28 (Unlimited data plan FUP@500mb ,100 mins voice call any network and 30 sms) when u using data, then most of the time u do not need sms already.
Just my 2 cents.
