I am thinking of getting a line for my son so that he can call me when he has finished his tuition.  I am currently using Maxis Surfmore 50.  What is the best cost effective plan i should get for this purpose?  I won't mind prepaid or post paid - just need to be the cheapest in term of yearly.  Thinking of signing up a new Maxis sub-line and paid RM10 every month plus some minimal call charges but i heard there is a DiGi prepaid plan which they charge RM30 per year and the call charges is pay as you use.  I can't find that DiGi plan at their web site.

DiGi prepaid Best plan has the one year validity option for RM30. It is called Super Long Life and details can be found under Reload on their website. Best plan was updated recently and now only charges 06 sen for the first 10 seconds. Also your son could add your Maxis line as a favourite and then he could call you for only 12 sen per minute.

Hi everyone, currently im using Xpax prepaid plan,
but Im planning to buy new smartphone using the rm200 rebate.
But i really dont know which telco to use and whether to use prepaid or postpaid. rclxub.gif
This is my current phone usage.

1) i reload RM30-RM50 per 6 months (using 1year credit extend)
2) i always do short call, less than 2min
3) i rarely sms, about 10-20 sms/week
4) I need internet data at certain days for FB and surfing internet (no video streaming)
during office hours only since i have streamyx at my home.
5) prefer celcom, digi, maxis only since the coverage here ok.

So, can someone recommend me a good telco plan based on my phone usage?
Budget wise please.
For prepaid, DiGi New Best with Super Long Life suit for 1 to 3. However data usage needs more budget such as RM20 per month based on using DiGi 100MB / 5 days / RM5 Mon to Fri.

Another way, U Mobile with UMI 18.

But, is it possible to have longer credit expiry? I dont want to top up RM30 every month
just because i need to do some calling. (similar feature like the Xpax 1year RM30 extend)
Can, that is what the Super Long Life gives you - one year validity for RM30

Details here

I need some advise from sifu here.

I always make long call, 1-2 hours (to fixed digi number) per day, less sms and need data for whatsapp, we chat and fb. So which plan should i go for? DG family postpaid or easy prepaid? Currently using best prepaid, thanks...

The latest Easy plan cap the free call at 1000 min per month which equal about 35 min per day.

Hi,

I am using digi prepaid now.
It's me and my boyfriend who need the plan. So we're hoping for unlimited internet access and if possible, free calls between the both of us.
RM100 and below, combined usage of unlimited internet charges. It doesn't really matter whether I will be on prepaid or postpaid.
Please help! =D

Either both U Mobile prepaid, with UMI 48 (2GB, 100 mins, 30 sms) or MB40 (2GB), each with free U-to-U calls

Or both DG prepaid with Mobile Internet Monthly 1GB*, both Easy plan or one Easy and one Best (Easy user makes the free calls to Best user).

* currently, it is 2GB but ending 05 February 2013 according to DG website

There are other data options under these plans, but I do not know how much data quota you need before speed strangled, so I've chosen 1~2GB for the above examples.

Thanks! =)

May I know what is MB40? Maxis?
I have been thinking about u mobile for quite sometime now.

Still U Mobile, see here for details.

Basically, 2GB/30 days/RM40/auto-renewing mobile broadband, which can be added to the normal U Mobile prepaid plan.

Btw, about the free calls, here is the main difference between DG Easy and U Mobile:

DG Easy, limited to 1000 mins per month ( = about 35 mins per day if used every day), exceed the cap and DG requires reload.

Free U-to-U calls, get one day for each RM1 of top, so top up RM50 = 50 days of free calls, limited to one hour per day (after that call is chargeable for rest of the day).

DG Easy latest plan, can free call any time of day or night.

U Mobile, free U-to-U calls are charged 7pm-midnight, though at a low rate of 6 sen/min.

Welcome smile.gif

Yes, correct - no free minutes or sms with MB.

And under UMI your free minutes will be deducted first even if you call another U number.
