Anyone knows what's the best telco with the longest validity? I like Tron but I cannot port my Digi number to Tron because of some 'terms and conditions' between both operators. I want to maintain these numbers over the long term.

u can just port to celcom and then port to tron afterwards. don't port to maxis, it got 3 months tenure before allow to port out. celcom can port out the next day after u port in to it.

Sadly, after confirming with Tron people (and waiting for the glimmer of light that is MCMC to respond to my complaint), I can't port to Tron, because the number I used is a 'Digi originated number'. According to Tron people only. By logic it should work, but I'll wait until Digi responds to my complaint. And hope for the best.

sorry to hear that. seems like mnp system in malaysia is still buggy even after 5 years its started  doh.gif

other country even can use the same simcard for all network, to mnp just one phonecall away from comfort of their home. here need to drive, search for parking, queue, submit manual handwritten form, wait  shakehead.gif

As much as I want to say that MCMC is doing 'okay', I'm afraid there's just things like these. Made a complaint to them & hoping to receive positive feedback regarding the issue. A week since my complaint, still no response.

sorry off topic,

is hotlink prepaid line good for oustation travel use?

i m using waze always

Maxis network is quite stable. All you need to do is pay for a internet package, eg. 1 day RM2 and you're free to use the Internet on your mobile. In terms of travel Hotlink has roaming but not sure about charges.

Need some advice from friends here. Currently I'm using iDigi plan & planning to change to Digi's other smartplan as it's more cheaper. Are there any other telco's plan than can give data (at least 3gb) for cheaper price than Digi?

Assuming you're on iDigi 138 (3GB quota), there are tons of other options.

1. Umobile 80/month - 3GB high speed quota, no extra charge after quota finishes, free 200min/50SMS other operator, free unlimited SMS/50 minutes to another Umobile number

2. Maxis surfmore 75 - 5GB high speed quota, extra charges after quota finishes, no other extras.

For other smaller providers I'm not too sure.

Regarding my case, Tron claims that MNP is still not possible despite me getting a call from Digi stating that it is possible. shakehead.gif not going to waste my time any more.

does umobile postpaid simple charge user went the bills come  ?

What do you mean simply charge user? Last time I was on U28, access fee 28/month, and service charge 6%, I pay 29.70 every month. If you call and text past your free quota then extra charges will be incurred.

They charge as you use la. i.e. for U28 package calls are not free, and once you finish your free SMS they charge you. Internet, they don't charge once you exceed quota, they only slow you down to 64kbps.

2 years +. Feel free to ask me anything - I personally feel that Umobile offers damn good value for money plans.

What do you mean, not sure what to choose on? If you're talking about which package to choose, pick the one that suits you most. 28 has free texts & 1GB data, 50 has free calls & 2GB data, and the most expensive one, 80, has free calls, texts, and 3GB data. Should be enough to cover most users' needs. If you want to find out more,

i mean i am not sure  which to choose  prepaid or postpaid .

Postpaid is convenient. Prepaid is flexible. Postpaid, you cannot stop your subscription and start whenever you want, but it saves you the effort of topping up & keying in codes every time to resubscribe, etc. That's about it. Then there is the issue of validity especially with prepaid, which can be annoying and inconvenient in times of need/emergency.

Price-wise for Umobile, not much difference. But, the entry point for prepaid is much lower. There's a 18/month prepaid package that gets you 250MB of data, 25 minutes and 25 SMS to all networks. http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/unlimited-mobile-internet-plan

At the price of 28, you get to choose between UMI 28 (1gb quota, 50 minutes, 30 SMS) and U28 (postpaid, 1gb, 300 free SMS). So it is up to your needs, whether you like being flexible or would like to be hassle-free and just pay the bill at the end of every month.
