Just go to uMobile, and request them to MNP over. Make sure you don't have contract with Maxis or else the process will fail...

If you have existing contract with Maxis (eg. you bought your phone with 24-month plan), you CANNOT MNP out.
If your post-paid plan is not tied to a timeframe, you can MNP out. No need to go Maxis. Just go to your TELCO and they will do the necessary. QUOTE(BboyDora @ Jan 24 2016, 08:34 AM) |

I believe you just need to buy the plan. For Hotlink, I think they have 1.5Gb + 1.5 (owl hours) for RM 30.
No need to switch plan. QUOTE(kucingfight @ Jan 28 2016, 10:59 PM) |

Dear friend,
I am like you. And I use Tunetalk. One year validity for RM 28 and for data, I am paying RM 2 per week. So averagely, my usage is RM 10 per month. Tunetalk is relying on Celcom telecomm infrastructure and is pretty reliable. Hope my experience can help you. QUOTE(pangolin88 @ Aug 19 2016, 12:53 PM) Hi Guys. I am a senior citizen and wish to get some advice from all you gurus. I have Streamyx at home where I spend most of my time. I have a Digi prepaid for many years for the occasional phone call. I do not SMS or watch youtube. What I need is to be able to continue using my Whatsapp when I am out of the house and to use Waze. With so many Telcos and even more plans I am really confused. Which one will be best for my needs. Thank you |

Can't really give you a good answer as there is not enough quantitative data. How much data required per month? What is your targeted budget vs your current usage.
However, do check out Tunetalk (TT) package. You can have long validity and affordable low-volume data usage. The downside mainly is that TT does not throttle the speed down once you hit your subscribed data quotas, but charge you instead. Nevertheless, don't be alarmed, as there is a SMS to inform you once you hit 90% usage. TT works well for me. It's the only MVNO that I believe will be around in years to come. Happy hunting... QUOTE(QQQ133 @ Dec 30 2016, 09:39 AM) I have been on Maxis prepaid for many years as I gather their coverage was/is good & my bills were covered by my office. I have retired recently & discovered that I'm contributing a lot of money to Maxis for my limited usage. Typically, I only call for say 1hr per month local mixed network, a handful of sms's & data for WhatsApp chat (mainly text) and Waze for navigation. I will use home wifi for all other data needs. My wife has been on Hotlink & needs to keep her line active (i.e. able to call), hence, she's paying RM30 per month and has since accumulated a couple of hundred RM credits since her usage is actually also minimal (similar to mine except no navigation needs & less roaming). So, should I convert to Hotlink & share her credits say for my roaming or should we both move to another network with more suitable plan? All help & suggestion will be most appreciated... |

Altel is using Celcom too.
TS requirement is low mobile data requirements, although he did not specify how much. For me, 100MB per week is more than enough. Rest is on Wifi. Of course, if your mobile requirement is skyhigh, then TT may not be best solution. QUOTE(Maxieos @ Jan 2 2017, 11:18 PM) |
