free voice/video call 15 hours for each line (each line got its own 15hours) or it is total for both lines ??

how about mms between the main & supp line ?? free or not ?

I believe main line has 20 hours and each supplementary line has 15 hours.

I think Maxis doesn't give free MMS?

Only DiGi gives unlimited free calls/SMS/MMS to the supplementary lines (vice-versa)

celcom also give unlimited free calls/sms/mms PLUS video calls between supplementary lines on celcom 1+5 i guess...

Actually Celcom has limitation to 40 hours, just have a look on its T&C just that it hasn't implemented yet.
DiGi on the other hand, is totally unlimited free.

i'm using Maxis Postpaid SUbline.. It dont really suit me cuz i sms a lot and mostly sms to DiGi..

Is it the cheapest so far? It's definitelty cheaper than my postpaid plan where 5cents sms to maxis and 15cents to other network.

Yes, it is the cheapest prepaid plan.

Just get yourself converted to this plan if you are still eligible to do it. Not sure why Maxis wants to close all the conversion so quickly.

Does Celcom offer a data plan for mobile phone users? I'm currently using CE 50 where I can do the video/voice call and stuff and occasional surfing. On top of that I also subscribed to the Basic RM68 broadband. Meaning I have 1 SIM card for each usage.

I'd like to know if there's any affordable data plan available. I'm new to Celcom.. XD

just wanna ask your opinion on which telco should i subscribe based on below matter.

I currently using Maxis Postpaid Value RM80 plan. Been calling my gf everyday and the bill comes up around RM200++. It has been few months with bill around RM200++. Average calls is around 40hours based on the itemised bill for the last few months.

I'm cant stand it anymore to keep paying RM200++ just for the phone bill. I'm thinking of getting Celcom 1+5 which i studied that it much more beneficial for me and my gf. Just register new no for both my gf and i.

I will terminate my maxis no and change it to prepaid, and add with celcom number for family plan for my gf and i.

So, do you think my plan is good? or you have another ideas to share with me? Please do yeah...

IMHO, Prepaid plans are having similar rates to postpaid plans - except Postpaid plans usually come with special free calls and sms bundles.

I've been using Celcom's Executive 50 plan, and I've been getting their 30% discount on my rates. Pretty worth it if u ask me. Why not try Celcom's family plans too? Your gf gonna be your wife some day what.

You may try DiGi postpaid, not need to terminate number just MNP and remain your current number but switch your telco provider.
You become the main line, minimum package is only RM 50 whereas you girlfriend becomes your supplementary line and only pays RM 30.00, both of you can call/SMS/MMS for free and it is unlimited.
I'm sure this can save your cost a lot.

If i'm using Digi then, my bill would be RM50+RM30 = RM80 . Unlimited SMS/MMS/Call/Video Call?

Whereas, if i'm using Celcom EP 50 + Family Plan 1+5, my bill would be RM50+5(supplementary line) = RM 55. 40 hours per subscriber, means SMS/MMS/Call/Video Call are 80 hours for both of us for 1 months.


I'm thinking of getting new line because i want to separate personal and working line. And the new line that i might buy just for calling my GF without not commitment to call anyone else unless emergency.

So, i'm thinking of getting Celcom instead of Digi. But would like to get Digi if cheap than Celcom but longer calls from Celcom.

If you are using video call, then forget about DiGi because it has no 3G video call features yet, so far only DiGi 3G broadband. Calls/SMS/MMS are unlimited free though.
Celcom seems to be a better choice for you. Go ahead with it.

Anyway call rate for DiGi is RM 0.13/minute to all networks and RM 0.10/SMS to all networks. Can add up to 6 numbers for FnF to enjoy cheaper call and SMS rate.

throw a question to all of you here, i'm going to go abroad soon, but i'm unwilling to give up my number( 019 XXX 4444) which had cost quite alot to me.. is it possible that i retain my number just that i change the service provider, say to starhub?

it's possible to switch from maxis, digi to celcom and one another, but is it possible to do the samething in other country?

if not possible, what should i do? should i just let it die off like that? i cannot...

Hey guys, i have successfully create new postpaid line in Celcom, with package EP50 plus 1 subline.

So far, i don't face any trouble using it except when i want to login into the online postpaid website. It keeps appearing 'Please login again after 3 minutes'. I keep trying after waiting about 1 hour and try login again, but same error message appeared.

Tried to call 100 to talk to Celcom representative, but they seem dont have any clue what is going on. And they said they opened case for me and will respond within 3 days!!

Well, i hope within 3 days, everything would be better.

currently me n my wife using Hotlink with credit usage RM30 ++ and RM50++ per month. I'm thinking of getting postpaid plan either form Maxis / Celcom / Digi.

This is my usage - mainly for voice call and sometimes video call to my wife + calling friends / office usage.

From my survey on the family / supplementary line if found this:

Maxis - Commitment of RM 80 permonth
Principal line RM 50 (VP 50) + supplementary line RM 30 (family plus 30 - commitment of RM30 per month), voice call rate 15sen / 20sen (on / off net), allowed SHARING TALKTIME (so both of us can used up to RM80 permonth) & free call between family line - capped at 15 hours.

Celcom - Commitment of RM55 permonth
Principal line RM50 (exec 50) + supplementary line RM5 (monthly fee), voice call rate 30sen (on/off net), free call between family line - capped at 40 hours.
For this i think principal line will be goes to my wife and i will be used the supplementary line.

DIGI - Commitment of RM80 permonth
Principal line RM 50 (forgot what plan) + supplementary line RM 30 (1family - commitment of RM30 per month), voice call rate 13sen (on / off net) & free call between family line - dont know got capped or not.
For this the principal line will be goes to my wife and i will used the supplementary line.


At first, im thinking of getting Digi but due to the DIGI dont provide video calling yet... maybe i should forget about "Orang Kuning" currently... Does anyone here know when DIGI will provide this service since they got 3G service for broadband now. If they will introduce in due time, i'll think maybe i can wait abit...

On the celcom part, i'm afraid that the usage of calling time will be more as celcom call rate is 30 sen perminute. the advantage of it that it provide longer hours for family call time.

As for Maxis, don't have any problem with their package, but just been using hotlink for quite some times (almost 10 years ady). the best credit that i could give to maxis is they provide SHARING TALKTIME, which i think the best bang for the bucks.



So anyone can suggest me ... Hope to get it with reasons why you choosing it...

and how many number u calling..
if calling ur gf better take digi postpaid with sup line..
where the call from the main to sup and vice versa is free..

tat was last time. Atm not anymore. Prepaid smses are anytime cheaper than postpaid smses. For calls not all prepaid plans are at the cheapest. It also depends u are calling which network.

Yes that is super cheap but u still need to use your main land to call other person because u have a commitment fee of rm50. If u dont use it u still need to pay the rm50

Hey guyz, I used to travel to oversea and I would like to know is there any plan for me that make local rate call & internet access under roaming mode? My manager got Maxis plan which costs RM130 something that charges local rate call whether you're in oversea or local...but Maxis no more offer that plan anymore.

usually no such thing because when u are at oversea the cost is bare by that country ure in telco provider. So lets say u go to Europe its 6times of RM. Do u believe maxis will bare it? So the maxis plan ure saying maybe u have mistaken about it

Just wondering... I remember DiGi has a 365 plan and Maxis too... Just that they provide different type of payment. From what I remember, you can pay a fee and maintain it for one year. Don't know whether they still offer it.

No, DiGi postpaid cannot be reverted back to DiGi prepaid. On another hand, you may try DG30.

Then, you really have no choice but to stay with DG50.
There is always another way to get back to prepaid if you want.
Port out to other telco first and port in back to DiGi Prepaid.
A little bit of hassle but if your usage is minimal then gotta bear with the procedures.

I have a question.

I was informed that being a govt servant, I could get a certain discount on Celcom broadband. However, the question that I wish to tie in is that;

supposedly I take a Celcom postpaid plan, and then take their 3G offering, is that discount for the 3G applicable?

i used to call a lot, be it Maxis users or other telco users. usually my bill every month will go up to RM100~150 even after Value Extra (8cents call/1cent SMS). right now im thinking of putting those people i often call to be my sub line.

but judging on maxis's network performance nowadays, i'd say it's pretty bad. i get wind n cracking sound even though it's full bar and sometimes experience call drops. i'm currently thinking whether to stay with maxis or switch to celcom.

i heard if using celcom postpaid, i can only opt for 1+5 if i want to make a sub line. is that true? i don't want my sub line to suffer though as the call and sms charges for sub line is quite expensive than the main line (unlike maxis where sub line enjoys the same rate as main line).

The part about the degradation of Maxis network is true to my own experience.

But you are right, only maxis offers the same call rate/sms for their principle + supplementary lines , and credit sharing. Celcom does not offer this ; their supplementary lines call charges are significantly higher.

I'm in dilemma choosing between Digi and Celcom...I missed those day Celcom offered 50,80,120 & 250minutes plan where I could know how much total minutes I have made outgoing call in a month by checking phone. The billing amount will be your total call minutes - minutes plan.

But nowaday, telco seems to stick to "monthly commitment" which you have to pay that amount if you don't use n need to pay the total amount if you're exceed the minimum commitment.

I do not know much about Maxis postpaid plans but as an ex-Hotlink user, yes you can change back to Hotlink from Maxis postpaid, but not within the first 6 months of your postpaid tenure.

at 1st, they give free unlimited talk time and sms among these 6 numbers..but now,they have decreased it to only 20 hours free talk time and 1500 free sms...so not fair lorr...
and the rate also differ between the main line and sub line..main line, if call 15sen/min to all numbers but the sms rate is 12sen..but the subline,30sen/min and sms 10/min..pretty expensive huh?

The supp line rate is better than what celcom offers.

i went to the Celcom Centre this afternoon, and had been told that they have reduced the free calls from 40hrs to 20hrs without any notification. I feel like a victim when they simply change the package of the plan. It's like a breach of contract!

I am also writing in to seek advices from sekalian.

I am currently using maxis hotlink. I would like to seek other operator as the network coverage of maxis at my house/area is terrible. My gf and I often have problem exchanging calls/smses.

Our call/sms patterns is we sms more often than calls. We exchange about 900 smses between us in a month. (I send her 15 sms in a day. 15sms x 2 (my sms to her, her sms to me) x 30 days)

In regards to calls, I doubt we spent less than 20minutes on the phone EACH day. So a cool 12 hours of conversation in a month is surely sufficient.

Now to the question. What are the available plans which could suit my gf and me? Note, we only SMS and Call. We dont MMS/GPRS/3G/watever technology is available now.

All we want to achieve is just to be able to call and sms on a stronger network here in my hse so we wont be delayed in receiving/sending sms as well as drop in calls on a CHEAPER rate.

Our monthly usage bill is lesser than RM30 each of us. Meaning, she and myself only spend RM30 EACH on our call charges. A large chunk of this amount is also spent on calls and sms-es between her and me. (yes, we dont have another life outside from she and me haha).

Any good recommendation is well appreciated!

ps: i am thinking of getting an EXTRA line with my gf on tunetalk to get a nice couple no. perhaps? I am also aware of the pesky AD we'd need to listen before calls. So probably just open two tunetalk line to get the number and port to another telco (except maxis). Any other bad feedbacks so far from porting out of tunetalk to another line? banyak hassle? if banyak, then i wont open tunetalk. saje nak gatal sikit.

If you sms a lot, then sign up for the Value Extra SMS plan - RM8 for 500 sms.
Otherwise, if you are near a computer, sign up for WebSMS and sending out sms is free...(up to 3 sms)

I'm currently using the Hotlink Prepaid. I've been using this for 5 years now. Back then, many of my friends are using Hotlink. So I decided to buy Hotlink number as well.

But now, half of my friends are using different telco lines. It's kinda hard for me to call/SMS them cause it costs me alot. Even, a RM10 topup couldn't even last for 3 days.

I've started college and I'm far too LAZY to SMS my friends. I would just call them straight away and discuss about our plans/assignments.

I'd thot of changing to Postpaid. It frustrates me big time, when I'm out of credit and I have no money to buy a topup or perhaps I'm nowhere near to any shops which sells topups.

I'm now looking forward to any Hotlink Postpaid and Digi Postpaid. I'm not sure of which to choose. I don't really understand the whole postpaid concept thing. LOL,

Though, I would like to stick with my current Hotlink number. In addition to that, I don't use MMS/3G/Internet much. I'd prefer any telco line which provides low and cheap postpaid line for calls and SMS-es (for all networks).

With Prepaid, I usually spend around RM70 per month.

Use *100# to change from normal plan to HYC.
RM8 service charge will be deduct from credit balance.

I'm currently a Maxis postpaid user, and I barely use my phone for local calls/SMS, almost 97% of my monthly bill goes to international SMSes. My gf is in SG so yeah, explains the heavy SMSing.. we sms ALMOST as though we're in the same country, ignoring the RM0.20 sen per sms rate. For her side its $.15. My bills would come up to RM 100ish per month, when I was only using RM50 plan.. parents cant handle that...and I did my research and found most (maybe all actually) international SMS for any plan is flat, RM0.20 per sms. I was wondering what would you guys recommend? Hoping to cut down my monthly international SMS expenditure. Or is there another provider out there, not a local one that may be able to provide cheaper international SMSes?

For those people in long distance relationships, would love to hear your opinions on this!

My best friend did this when her boyfriend was working in Singapore for the past six months:
1) In Malaysia, she is already under her BF's supplementary line. They are using DiGi that means unlimited free calls/SMS/MMS.
2) Her BF got her a Singaporean number (same telco as his - I presume there is discounted rate or free SMS-es?)

So, her BF will SMS to my best friend's Singaporean number and my friend will reply to her BF's DiGi number using her DiGi supplementary line.

Basically they had two phones each. I think quite a minimal cost incurred in term of monthly billing.

Not sure if this helps but her BF was there was temporary only, now he is back in Malaysia.

For calls, they usually use Skype to video and voice conferencing!

thanks for the advice fruitie. I'll have to check with digi about this cuz for maxis, if you use your maxis overseas, it's considered roaming. roaming means you're charged at roaming rates which override whatever plan you have in Malaysia.

Not sure about the roaming though, I didn't ask much because she just told me during one of our casual conversations.

Supplementary lines are always postpaid not prepaid BUT DiGi is the first telco in Malaysia that introduces prepaid for supplementary lines too!

Celcom then. It has the widest coverage and supposedly the strongest coverage as well.
