question is how much is that data? 500MB? 1GB? 2GB? 3 GB?

I think 1gb would be min or sufficient for me. Thanks.

Dear All,

Wish to get your advice, and appreciate your feedback..

I'm a iPhone user who tied with Digi for 2 years contract, and will be end on next month. Don't wanna continue to use this Digi due to it line quality (voice+data), can't receive sms & etc. Really "Teruk", being suffer for 2 years is enough.. doh.gif

Now in the midst switch to Maxis or Celcom, but still hard to decide.. cry.gif

For my situation:
-> 60% for data plan & 40% for phone call.
-> Monthly data usage around 800MB~900MB.
-> Phone call not that concern, as I only call out if really urgent..
-> Prefer postpaid with data plan + 2 sub-line (no need data plan). Wish to get around rm40~70 for my principle line, then rm15 x2 for both sub-line. Hopefully can remain around rm100 (or less) phone bill for every month.. sweat.gif

As I survey from their official website:
Maxis package:
- Value Plus Internet 50 = RM50 but 250MB only & Free 100 mins call & 100 sms. (Need to add RM48 for 1GB extra).. rclxub.gif
- Internet Value 50 = RM50, 1.5GB but no free call & sms | Over quota = 30 sen / 1MB.. mad.gif
- Sub-line = RM30 per line. Can share credit to principle line.. rclxm9.gif

Celcom package:
- First Data mAdvance Plus = RM68, 3GB & Free 60 mins call & 60 sms only but no flat rate | Over quota = speed drop.. unsure.gif
- First Voice Prime = RM40, call & sms 15 sen flat rate but 50MB data only (Need to add RM38 for 1GB extra)
- Sub-line = RM15 per line. Not sure can share credit or not.. wink.gif

So which telco should I go for? Both of them have their pro & con.. sad.gif

Hopefully can hear from you all soon. Many Thanks.. thumbup.gif

maxis, all postpaid call+data plan will charge u once u exceed the quota.
but u said ur usage around 900mb only?

then, the share credit is only applicable for principal of value plus 80/150/250/500.
others, cannot share.

for celcom, NO share credit benefits.

(we talking about celcom&maxis personal/individual plan here. so pls ignore biz/corporate plan)

I plan to change to Umobile and get the RM28 package with internet.
But however, am afraid if one day while using it and i'll change my mind to use back Digi.
Heard that they're really bad in closing account.
Close account already still will continue billing until you send them police report

ur welcome.

well me & my wife not call a lot. sms also almost 0 (coz using whatsapp hehe).

i'm asking bcoz u said u only call if urgent.

so seems maxis talkmore28 is the best for u.
but, the supp line for this plan is no free call, just 20% discount sweat.gif

go for celcom lah.
min is 40 + 38 (1gb) + 15 + 15 = 108/month.

coz maxis the cheapest to share credit is 50 + 48 (1gb) + 30 + 30 = 158/month (110 shared)

in this case, port from ur digi to umobile prepaid, not postpaid.
topup rm30, subscribe for u28 (500mb with 100mins & 30sms).
so after 1 month if u not satisfied with umobile coverage and quality, its easy to port back to digi or other telco ~
if u satisfied, then continue or upgrade to postpaid.

Dear Erry, thanks for your advice.

Base on your recommendation on Celcom package:
40 + 38 (1gb) + 15 + 15 = 108/month
-> Pro: Flat rate to all network
-> Pro: Data line speed will drop after quota reach
-> Pro: Cheapest sub-line
-> Cons: No offer on telesales side
-> Cons: Might be tie with contract

But if try to compare apple to apple (almost apple.. tongue.gif), Maxis have this package "Internet Value Plus":
RM50 (1.5gb) + 30 + 30 = 110/month
-> Pro: If register thru Maxis telesales, first 6 months will deduct rm10 (principle) + 20 (Sub-line x2). Total will be RM40+20+20 = 80/month
-> Pro: Non contract
-> Pro: Can share credit among the sub-line
-> Cons: No free call & free sms
-> Cons: Chargeable once data line over quota

RM2 difference only if don't have Maxis telesales offer.. sad.gif

What is your opinion on both telco pro & cons?
- Network coverage & line quality?
- 3G performance?
- Customer service quality?
- Any other concern?

Many Thanks.. notworthy.gif

do note that plan is excluding ur usage of call & sms.

hi all,

1) my prepaids (maxis HOTLINK + celcom UOX) will be expired next year. Instead of converting to postpaid, is there any other way to keep the number and 'prepaid' type afterwards? (im not going to any service provider yet to ask, just google around)

2) if there no solution for above, is there any prepaid plan that you wanna recommended?
I'm lite usage. RM10 maybe for a week or 2 or even 1 month cant finish nod.gif

ur hotlink, is it youth club?

if yes, actually both ur hotlink yc and celcom uox is not expired at all, its just the service plan thats expired.
both will be automatically convert to normal prepaid, so yes, u can keep the number as prepaid.

only, the validity of airtime/credit after this is based on ur reload/topup amount, or based on ur yearly subscribtion fee (which is, a waste for me, unless, u staying oversea).

the cheapest to make expiry date longer, is port to umobile.
coz umobile validity is 3x top-up amount. rm10 is for 30days, rm30 for 90 days, rm50 for 150 days, or rm100 for 300days.

http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/free_sms_and_calls - look at 3x longer credit validity

prepaid termination date is usually 90 days after expiry date.
of coz, within that time, u can still receive call & sms.
but usually we will, at least, make a call & sms within 90 days.
so by default will top-up the credit, even for just rm5 laugh.gif
