Folks,

I will be traveling to KL for 2 weeks from the US. I am confused on all of the prepaid options there are in Malaysia and I would like your help.

I have an unlocked GSM Samsung Captivate which I would like to get data/sms/local calls for my stay (2 weeks).
Main usage is data (i.e. sending pictures to facebook) with the occasional sms/local calls for meeting up with people.

Thanks,
Tvo

Hi all,

I'm currently using Celcom Exec 50 plan. No data plan or package.
I'm planning to change to a smartphone because I need to be able to check my emails on the go.

Appreciate your advice on which plan and telco I should opt for. This is if I decide not to get a phone with the package (although the iphone package is quite attractive). Am planning to get the smartphone and than buy a phone and data package.

I'm looking for good reception and stable connection. Relatively cheap call and sms rate (as I call and text quite a lot). Stable internet connection as I need to download my emails quite frequently.

Appreciate the advice smile.gif

Any other telcos (besides DG) that offer free calls and sms mms within family line, and for the family supp line can be prepaid instead of postpaid.

Hi all I am also still confuse with the plan. Here I want to ask. I am still new, bcos got 1 fren wan sell me a smartphone. Now just using old nokia 3100 with prepaid. Don't know about the plan. Hope u guys can guide me.

1) If I already got a smartphone and wanted to surf the net. Can I just apply for the data plan?

2)If I just want to buy the phone and don't want any plan. Can I buy it from a telco itself or must I go to shop?

3) How to apply for a prepaid number?

You can buy anywhere. If budget is an issue then get telco package. You can from both place not a problem.

Telco package is usually 1-2 years. Read up telco website and you get what I mean.

Cheaper to buy from shop? Depends. If you ask me, just buy from the telco best for your location and your favorite.

By the way, just go to go telco website can find d la....

Of course postpaid can be bought anywhere....
