It depends your contacts' population falls into which category.
Just follow the majority, then just get the one that suits you. Usually these telcos will give the biggest rebate if you call/SMS within the same network. smile.gif

He already has an HYC number, so I guess DiGi Campus is a good choice but it is no longer opened for new subscribers.
Else, UOX is not bad too. smile.gif

gosh~ so many telcos & at last i can own a phone now...

im student...
ya know? a 14 kid...so wads telco is best for me...
i wont heavy use as im not rich, i think the credits is all by myself not by my parents/siblings~
probably wont use 3g stuff/internet stuff..even i wan use internet, theres wifi, but i dun think my family is giving me a phone even can access internet =.=|

so i think prepaid shud suits me most rite?
is there a possible that has a package that has no expiry date(or at least have a long lifetime, hate those prepaid which expire after 1-2weeks, i dun wanna spam use the credit that I left when the expiry date is near =.=...i wan it at least has ahalf year lifetime??]

a fren using HYC the credit would never expired until 2012 O.O
well is really that HYC so nice & cheap? or is there any better choice?

Added on October 8, 2010, 10:14 am
or is it all the prepaid rate is the same...so juz stick to the majority frens?
credit validity oso depends on the amount u reload? etc. topup rm5 = last 5 days ??

even to other network contacts, the rate although is SLIGHTLY higher abit[HYC 5sens sms to other, campus 6 sens]
well, unless u have only around 6 frens that u often sms/call, get digi easy...free calls[60hr to 3 buddyz per month]& sms[unlimited] & 3 FnF with lower rates

hi all,

i am planning to switch to postpaid however i have some doubt which need to seek everyone advise.

currently im looking at maxis and digi but i am not quite clear about the commitment fee. can anyone kind enough to clarify it to me ?

as what i understood from the description, commitment fee is like you have to pay regardless if any phone call or sms has been made. let say i have to pay RM50 a month fixed.

so what if i make calls and sms? will it offer RM 50 phone calls or will be like RM50+(call+SMS charges)?

sorry for such newbie question but i am just not quite clear about it, thanks for all the help and clarification smile.gif

RM 50 for your usage. smile.gif Anything more than RM 50, then you have to pay.
Assuming your usage is only RM 45, you still have to pay RM 50 because that's your commitment fees. You have committed to use RM 50 per month. smile.gif
If your usage is RM 60, you will pay RM 60.

It is not on top of it, else that will be access fees. I don't think any new plans are offering access fees nowadays, most of them have changed to commitment fees.

hi, thanks for reply.

so basically i will have to pay RM 50 even if my phone call did not reach RM 50, and on the other case if i make call for more than RM 50 then i will have to pay the additional charges, eg (fixed RM 50 + (phone call RM 70 )) means (RM50 commitment fee + RM70 - RM50= RM70 ).

ive also notice that the plans offered by some telco, maxis for example have some quota limits ? take maxis for example if i subscribe value plus 50 , the call usage is only capped at RM100 ? is that true?

also if i want to subscribe additional 2 sub lines for my family members, what would be commitment fee be calculated? so far maxis is offering RM30 for each like if i am not mistaken , is that means that the commitment fee will also have RM 30 of call usage before additional charges, same as the main subscription.?

thanks for all the help guys smile.gif

Yes, for the RM 70 example.

I'm not sure of Maxis' credit limit. smile.gif
For DG 50 is RM 400 credit limit. smile.gif
