Barum Bravuris seemed to be discontinued, have been trying hard to find them but to no avail, what's the budget for 195/55R15?
*
around rm600 for 2 pcs. i will probably try the Advan or S-Drive.

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Apr 23 2009, 08:49 AM)
you can try Hankook V12 195/55/r15... a lot of good review...
should not be more than RM200...  rclxm9.gif Michelin PP2 will cost RM230 cheapest and not directional tyres...
good dry and wet handling with reasonable price...  smile.gif
*
thanks a lot. i will take a look at the V12.
i am looking for a directional thread, so PP2 is out. icon_rolleyes.gif
any reccomendation on directional tyres from Bridgestone?

i checked on the yokohama website and there are no C drive of 195/55/r15 on the list sweat.gif
the owner told me it was from 2008 stock... am i con'ed? unsure.gif
btw, will try my friend's car fitted with V12 this evening and see how it goes.

any familiar with Yokohama A.Drive?
recommend by forummer, is it good for Avanza?
*
since the price doesn't differ much from C.Drive, why don't just go for C.Drive?
it offer more fun and better traction too.
satisfied C.Drive user here. good traction and grip.
currently using it on my 2 front. slightly noisy on uneven surface though.

hei man...try yokohama S.drive...if u din cornering at 140km!
dry n wet perform great n comfort than T1R!
*
agree with you. a satisfied 195/55/r15 S-drive user here smile.gif
price / performance is a lot better than Ze912. comfort level better than T1R. very stable at fast corner. tested cornering around 130km/h during a way down from cameron sometimes ago. the tyre's grip stay but the stock suspension almost gave way sweat.gif
part of the reason could be that i bought a used T1R with about 80% thread from a friend while the S-drive is new smile.gif so, can't really compare but a new T1R cost a lot more than S-drive!

How about Forceum D800?

nice tire thread but traction/ grip sux' big time. especially in wet. sweat.gif
a friend of mine using it for a month. mind you, he just sold the pair at 80 bucks tongue.gif for a new
S.drive.

I'm looking for 215/45/r17. Any good tyre? A.Drive C.Drive S.Drive? Which one is better any other brand? I'm looking for comfort, good grip in dry/wet, performance moderate will be ok and reasonable tear/wear.
*
comfort tyres should be anything higher than profile 55. smile.gif but they look ugly.
C.drive wasn't as comfort due to it's harder sidewall which is good for whacking corner thumbup.gif plus it was a bit noisier on uneven surface.
A.drive / C.drive is not available in bigger size but you can't go wrong with S.drive thumbup.gif
btw, i am running on C.drive on the front and S.drive on the rear. so far, the overall performance had been far exceeding my expectation!

i doubt they have it cuz' a friend of mine had been looking around for C.drive at that size. finally he settled for S.drive.

S.drive is fine. but if you are looking for cheaper alternative, try
Goodyear Eagle F1 or dunlop D01. even the Sime Tyre is consider 'not too bad' for it's price.
those offering from Michellin and Bridgestone is another alternative.

215/45 is my standard tyre size. i just wanna follow back.. C+S drive can mixed?
*
Yes. am using the same profile, albeit, C.drive at the front and S.drive at the rear without any problem.
look like am gonna swap the S.drive to the front cuz' my 'fei poh auntie wanna take a ride back to kampar
soon......jk tongue.gif

QUOTE(loong2020 @ Jul 31 2009, 08:03 AM)
is it ok to change front tires that is different size with the back ones??  front im planning to change to 195/55/r15 and rear is old tires 195/60/r15..... hmm.gif  and which tire is suitable for average driving, like not to fast, takes corners,handling..price rm150-220
*
No problem. my neighbour is using profile 55 front and profile 60 rear. no obvious different. smile.gif
for average driving, i suggest you stay with profile 60, which is more comfortable.
profile 55 will give you a slightly bumpy ride(depending on suspension set up).
yokohama A.drive is fine for average driving. C.drive and S.drive has a harder sidewall, thus good for taking fast corner.

@loong2020@
most of the shop i went to selling the C.drive 195/60/r15 under 195 bucks. i get my 2pcs of 195/55/r15 around 380 somewhere in march at 380 bucks including computerized wheel balancing and rim repair thumbup.gif
at the price, i really get the bang for bucks!
good for cornering, no aqua planning, good grip in wet / dry and no steering vibration(check your joints/ lower arm bush) at 198km/h... thumbup.gif
the only complaint; noisier on uneven surface and ride is a little firmer(am on the last profile 55, i think this profile is no longer available on C.drive smile.gif ).
i tried conti cct1 before, softer ride. not as noisy as the C.drive but offer less fun. karak highway definitely need a tyre with harder sidewall whistling.gif

Micheal9413 was right, XM1 is on par with A.drive. thread wise, A.drive last longer.

which area are you in? there is one yokohama outlet in pandan indah in front of mid point shopping centre.
else, try the one behind jusco maluri. both in KL.
last time i am using a new dunlop d01, it takes longer to stop in the rain but the distance is almost a
half shorter with c.drive.
how long you'd been using it? if it's already wear out, you should change it as soon as possible!
btw, PD road is damn fun, especially at night! cool2.gif

sorry, newbie here, what are directional tyres? tongue.gif
*
directional tyres is a tyre with 'arrow like' or V shape tread. Yokohama S.drive, Goodyear Eagle F1 and Toyo T1R is a fine example. equally good in dry and wet road condition due to good water dispersion but quite noisy.

Falken 912 and Yokohama A drive R1
can anybody advise which 1 better..?
price same?
*
tested both. my money goes to yokohama a drive r1.
falken is quieter on rough surface but a drive r1 offer more fun overall + it's tread is more lasting compare to falken 912.

I going to buy a new set tyres for my car, So due to my budget I only can buy Dunlop or Silverstone. Between both of it, which want is the best?

for stock rims, both are almost equal. between dunlop d091 and kruzer, dunlop d01 is the better bet. still, both are better than nct 5.

hi there guys!

my tyres are nearing the end limit of its usage.

i'm thinking bout using yokohama parada

my current tyres are st115 azenis

so, is it better to use yokohama? the foreman told me that y-parada is around 220 per piece, where as the st115 was like 195 per piece

any opinions?
*
depending on your driving style and purpose; parada spec 2 has a softer sidewall which is not so good for spirited driving / fast cornering.
comfort rate is good and tyres' tread pattern is quite special too.
based on my personal experience, comfort level is better than falken azenis.

was using most of the yokohama range since 1st ride; c.drive, s.drive, ar.d1 ad07 and dna range.
upon reading the good review on ps3, bought a pair of 245/45/r15 ps3 for the rear a few weeks back.
all i can say is the ps3 simply awesome! good overall grip and traction. twin pot aside, i feel like the ps3 improves the braking as well.
my only complaint was the soft looking tread tongue.gif

btw, as a comparison, ps3's tread wear rated at 320 while ad07 at 180. gy f1 asy rated at 240 and adrenalin at 220 if am not mistaken.
so, you do the math brows.gif

Bridgestone Potenza RE050 RFT 225/45/R17 RM1150
*
the re050 is about the same price of 2x ps3 tongue.gif .
different league of course but for average driver like us, ps3 will be just fine.
btw, just checked around at cheras area, 195/55/r15 ps3 still selling at rm240.
buy x2 free wheel balancing. buy x4 free wheel balancing and alignment.
