im using hankook v8 now.the treadwear not that good. only use it for 1 year and 8 months, then need to change all 4 donuts already.wawawa icon_question.gif
*
personally never used v12 before but read good feedback bout them...912 also wear fast type because of the good grip.if not mistaken 912 has double A traction..

I was quoted 912 for rm310 by hup soon today. didnt manage to get the price for v12 since they didnt sell it there.actually wanna compare the price for the 2 (from the same shop) before changing my donuts. So far, i was quoted rm380 for v12 (by hankook shop in bangi) and rm310 for 912(from hup soon). when comparing the review for these 2 donuts, it's more or less the same, but the price differs a lot rclxub.gif  Oh ya, both the price are quoted for 4 donuts with free balancing, allignment and no charge for credit card.

I actually like v8 a lot (except for its treadwear) very confident when taking corners but its no longer in production, as i was told. so wanted to upgrade to v12. But the price is on the high side. maybe looks like im going for 912. What do u guys think?
icon_question.gif

v12 of course have better review and feed back from lot of people.I think its performance should be good.but my opinion is can give 912 a try since budget is a concern.and I have read about v12 cracking at side wall too..

Just to update.went to hup shun yesterday and changed to falken 912. Initially want to change 4donuts,but they only got donuts which is manufactured on july 2010.since they all already cabut my donuts already,i only change 2. the other 2,will change it at other shop.

Initial feedback, 912 grip is ok,stable during high speed on highway also. comparable to v8, good during wet also.but its quite noisy la, even noisier than v8. thinking wanna change the other 2 donuts to v12. We can use diff donuts for front and back right?
*
yes but from the feedback i got 912 is not very noisy la.and maybe rm310 is the old stock price.

well you can hear a sound... like when you try to shift without pressing on the cluth pedal in manual model...
not tat loud... but can hear... NCT5 that time i was using...
after change to PP2... no such problem... even in car park with Cement floor also... very very seldom ABS will get activated...
Sorry it is not normal..... if your tyre is good no problem... don tell me that go down the slope this will happen...
ask those tyre expert... this will not happen if the tyre you bought have good grip...

Try to go to www.tirerack.com read more on the tire review...
@kcng,

No that is not the speed... when you brake... which is makes your car stop faster???
you must have a good braking system... then i ask you... what is the contact between your car with the road???
TYRES!!!! this is the shoe... if you are wearing cheap shoes you lose grip very fast...
what if you buy a better shoe... of course it will improve...
of course this will repay you with more $$ you need to spend on the tires...

on Michelin PP2 i never have problem during cars and dogs raining condition... i drive 110~130 km/h on highway during that time also...
Remember... cheap things never come good... good things never come cheap!!!

I'm also shopping around for a pair of 175/70/13 tyres. Seems that size is not listed in the price guide. Any reason for that? I though this size is still very famous?

I'm using Yokohama A Drive and I've been loving it. If I can't find a better tyre, I will stick back with the A Drive. BTW, I have really bad experience with the Goodyear, crashed my car driving a pair of new Ducaro. So I would NOT recommend it at all. Michelin is good, but it's too expensive. No experience with the Continental before.

I will need to change it this Saturday, let me know if you have found a place to change yours ok? Maybe can go together get a group purchase discount!  tongue.gif

Hup Sun Sunway : Yokohama A Drive : RM140 ; Falken SN828 : RM135 (stay away from this!)

Need some advice,

am driving Myvi with stock (Sime) tyre since day 1. Today front tyre punctured by nail and simply went for a tyre shop to fix it.

You know lah, sure the boss will willingly inspect the other tyres and offer his opinion. Drive for 4 years + already, front tyres quite botak, rear tyres still got lots of  'bunga' but can see very very fine crack lines. He said the rubber has hardened already.

Boss adviced me to change 2 front tyres and moved the rear ones to front. He recomneded Dunlop (RM165) and Dunlop with wider width for more stable drive (RM185). Wider is better? Is this true?

I usually drive from house to office only, one year 2-3 times long distance NS highway, very underutilized. Not going for performance, just want durable (not bulging easily) and safe drive. Any good recommended for Myvi?
*
yokohama very durable ..price not bad also ...but heard feedback from some forumer saying Goodyear is better than dunlop ..
because dunlop too soft n wear faster...
