 DIY Fan controller thread-share your cuztom one, pls post with schematic if complicated

based on my experience
first is the easiest. 12V-----variable resistor (VR)-----fan (changes the voltage according to the current of the fan
second 12V---VR---ground (Change the voltage not affected by fan)
(middle connection of VR connect to fan)
third is improved version of second 12V-------resistor(same with max of VR)------VR---------ground
(middle connection of VR connect to fan)
forth is using rotatary switch with 5 0.2V drop diode. not recommend it. not mine either.
fifth is using adjustable voltage stabilizer. not recommend to use because it cost more than others.
