someone deposited the money into my hsbc account from cimb. he gave "cash" to the bank to be transferred into my hsbc account. he deposited the money on friday but up til now i have still yet to receive it. he even showed me the receipt. he's my good friend so no, he is not trying to scam me. i just want to know how long does it take for such transaction to materialize? the account number and all is correct.

he did a similar transfer b4 via cheque but that one went in in just a few hours. y should cash take any longer?

sorry if this is the wrong board, but i'm pretty sure it's a helpdesk too

From What I Know It's Actually 1Working Day. .

But It Have Time Limit. Depend On Each Bank Policy. .

For Your Case, If Ur Client Bankin On Friday Overed The Limited Time. It's Consider As The Next Working Day Payment. .

So You Should Receive Ur Fund At Either Monday Or Tuesday

some people.. doh.gif ..if going to bank in cash, could have just bank in directly into the HSBC bank. Why want to hassle by paying through another bank? Especially when the amount is big. Sometimes some people just doesn't have common sense.

Ok ok...no HSBC bank nearby..but sum large right? Why wanna take the risk? Just go bank in direct into HSBC.

Anyway, already passed. You can call HSBC bank to see if any payment came in. Or ask the payer to call CIMB to check.

If i not mistaken, it should be more longger than local bank. As cimb is using "meps" but hsbc using "house". Further more cimb is local bank and hsbc is an international bank. It should be additional 1 or 2 days.
