Everyone who frequents the Golden Triangle of Sg Wang, TS and Low Yat would probably know of the recent bunch of teenagers who are recently working around the area distributing these cards. They speak Chinese most of the time, and would attempt to give you this card that looks like this:

seen it before?

I usually avoid them, but I guess after too much built-up frustration from all the weeks has led me to decide to just hear them out and see what they had to offer. Now what happens is that you tear the edges of this nifty little card, and open it, and see what it gives you; you either get nothing (a "Thank you for trying"), some discount (colour will indicate how much percent you get off), or a "Special Gift" which they claimed there is only 200 in whole Malaysia.

I happened to get this "Special gift" which would require me to actually go to their office with the fella that gave me the card in order to redeem my gift. It's very odd that they wanted me to do it ASAP, go by taxi and redeem it. Moreover, they mentioned the grand prize (which is a car) and asked how much I have in my ATM [SUPER suspicious] so I can get rebate off of the road tax if I get that car. Alright, so far it sounds attractive but I'm not buying it because it's suspicious. Besides, I have things planned already. So I got them to write down the office address and phone number so I'd go on my own.

Now my question is, is this for real? It's suspicious, yes, but a part of me is curious as well, as to what on earth it possibly is all about. After all, I've seen them at work in that area for a few weeks already. I was just curious if anyone of you - being frequenters to the area - would have encountered them and share with me if what they have been running so far is true or legitimate to begin with >__>;; The company name that was on their tag was "-something- Healthcare (M) Sdn. Bhd."

just think of it this way : how many contests u have actually entered and didnt won?  how many contests entered that u won?  what are the prizes u got?

now this contest u didnt even have to enter or do anything yet u won a freaking car.  its beyond logic.

There were quite a number of them, and it did consist of these people, though I didn't notice the fat Indian. The ones that approached me was a Chinese guy and a petite Chinese lady.

coz once i saw these kind of "contest",... they usually target the unties.... then whenever the unties open their card, they will hold her hand and cograts them n some guy will come over to add the joy effect.... and there a car waiting to fetch the winnar to claim the price i guess... i saw the whole drama and it freak me out coz its not real... i mean the moment of their acting celebrate the winner and after that another winner.... what a fake
*
Wow, I've never seen that happen before! But there was no car waiting to fetch the winner, and they insisted I take a taxi tongue.gif I refused, because it all seemed too suspicious and I had better things to do in the evening than to follow them to their office just to claim a prize of I-don't-know-what. I'm glad though, that I checked with people here! At least if anyone goes through them again, they'll know they're in for something.

I guess on my side I was lucky as I had plans for the evening (yeah, surfing the internet after a long day at work is plans), and felt funny the very moment they ask me about my ATM card and insisting that I get a taxi to go to their office rightaway (normall office closes at 5 right? It was nearly 6pm when I left mine!)

Hopefully with my experience some people would be deterred from falling into the same scheme @@

I've seen that card before.

But I usually just ignore them when they approach me at the bridge connected to Sg.Wang and Lot10 by walking away as fast as possible.  sweat.gif

Yeah? rclxms.gif now even more reason to avoid!! I always avoid them by walking off, but I just had to know what they were doing there for so many many months! And now I'm glad I did.

This also can believe

Well, rather than believe, I think what I have presented in the first place was a case of suspicion. It definitely was a learning experience, as what was presented has been filtered and was not what happened directly.

whoa they have this in bukit tinggi klang too!

i was at the car park and this young girl popped out of nowhere and asked me to open the card, and i won something big, honestly i didn't even think it was a scam, i just gave the card back to her and asked her to give it to someone else sleep.gif

i started to feel very worried though when she kept asking if she could hop into my car and show me where i could redeem the prize.  shakehead.gif

Not afraid of getting kidnapped? blink.gif You could've sold her away!
