Not anymore for the black market now that M1 and Starhub released their iPhones as well. I manage to purchase one 32Gb 3GS brand new sealed in box set for only SGD1050 ~ RM2570 (Assuming SGD1 = RM2.45) and prices are still dropping in SG. That's about RM400 lower than Maxis' retail price. The only down side is that you'll have to go to SG to claim warranty. If anyone wants a SG set I reccomend waiting for another 1-2 weeks and the price would be even more competitive. I couldn't wait coz my current phone broke.

Anyway, I'm glad to join the iPhone family. Those who complain about the price, actually, I find the price reasonable. Aussie iphones are more expensive after conversion (based on price in apple store) so I have no complains about Maxis pricing. I just not happy at Maxis' monopoly, causing an acute shortage in the market, hence black market prices are so high. I just don't feel right that I have to pay about RM2700 for something that I COULD have bought at RM2490 from a retailer.

There are lots of pple in SG who wants to renew their contract, but they don't want the iPhone, so they sell it off. I think 16gb should be around SGD930-940 now. I don't wanna hang around their forums anymore coz I don't wanna sakit hati when I see the price drop again hehe...
