Hey all,

I am scheduling to do my Lasik pretty soon on 8th May in Vista, The Curve

Went for doctor meetup yesterday and he mentioned that my overall size of eye (the external surface- lids and etc) is too small and the suction ring MIGHT not fit in.

He said he MIGHT need to cut a few mm...hopefully not cm at the right side of my eye so he can increase the width,height to fit in the suction ring on the day... This would cost me additional Rm 500 for both eyes

Just wondering if anyone has undergone this? I am actually a bit uncomfortable with the eye cutting to enlarge part....

Do kindly advise on this matter as I am kinda uncertain at the moment.. Laser is bad now but now have to cut? as far as I am concern.. damages,scar around eye area is hard to heal as a result of tears

Any suggestion/advise is highly recommended from those with experience.

tatsumaki : is this becuz the patient who undergone lasik has cut the side of the eye to allow suction ring to be entered?

Cristiano : oh well, I know there is risk, but what is it like for cutting a few mm at side of eye ( recommended by doctor and he mentioned it will recover without scar or effect)

Any other got this experience among friends or etc?

Cant seem to find any information on those with smaller size of eye that undergone lasik which require a minor cut through all wonder google.

Gonna try to make appointment with optimax and get 2nd opinion now.

Its actually kinda out of topic from what I want to find out but its always beneficial to listen to extra knowledge

Went to optimax earlier and met with Dr Stephen.

And yeah he mentioned that I've small eye and it is quite at the bottomline to fit in the suction ring for intralasik... guess I will wait till the operation day to find out if can bo...

Not too sure about cutting.. cuz it would be around 1 cm....
