I tried searching for T900 in the forums, but it seems like there are not may users out there.

Was wondering if T900 users can report in and provide us with some reviews or feedback about this camera.

I have used the T200 before and the low light capability is horrible. Even with flash, iso 400 is ok only. But the main thing that catches my attention is the 720p HD video with continuous AF during video.

yeap, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 is tempting.

F2.0-2.8 and 24mm wide and also HD video but the video doesn't have continuous AF operation.

I just received mine today. Got the brown color one.

Was fiddling around with the settings and discovered the close up mode is insane. I could focus on a page close to less than a centimeter apart.

here's a sample.

user posted image

Bottom is underexposed as the camera was really close to the page.

Photos are edited with Picnik. Stock photos from camera seem to lack contrast in Intelligent Auto mode.

it would be nice if u can do a review on the HD Vid quality as i'm looking into Canon Ixus 110 IS, which is HD capable at 1280 and maximum duration as mention in the review is about 4gb or 1 hour..  drool.gif
*
I would like to do so also, but trying to find the right scene to shoot. Also, weather hasn't been good here.

This camera does 720p (1280 x 720) (fine-9Mbps, std 6Mbps bit rate) with stereo audio. And with a 8Gb card can shoot up to 110mins.

The canon shoots (HD) 1280 x 720, 30fps (same as the T900), (L)640 x 480, 30fps, (M)320 x 240, 30fps

Movie Length (HD) Up to 4GB or 29 min. 59 sec, (L and M) Up to 4GB or 1 hour

the sony is better comparing those numbers.

when talk about HD video recording, not to leave out HX1 which is comparable to camcorder which is similiar price range with it
*
Yeap, that is one of Sony's prosumer camera.

I like its sweep panorama technology for up to 224-degree horizontal and 154-degree vertical panorama shots with the push of a button.

It also has 1080p HD video recording.

Taken in the evening. Photo is slightly blur. I should have bumped the ISO.

Random B&W in Programmed Auto mode.

Lacks contrast right out of the camera.

Here's one with contrast adjustments

Here are some close up shots using Intelligent Auto mode. It automatically selected macro mode. Some shots were shot with close up mode (close focusing than macro mode).

All raw and unedited.

picture quality and video quality of this camera is not bad

Added on May 1, 2009, 9:51 pmis this camera same with DSC-T90?
cant find T-900 is sony website..
*
It's different from the T90. I am surprised Sony Malaysia never update their website both on Sony.com.my and sonystyle.com.my.

You can see it in the USA website here: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...ategoryId=16201

The only difference between the the T900 vs T90 is:

• 3.5 inch TFT LCD (approx. 921,600 pixels) vs • 3.0 inch TFT LCD (approx. 230,400 pixels)
• Stereo Mic vs Mono Mic

That is what I am aware of.

Similarities can be seen here: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0902/09021710...w290t90t900.asp

Thanks for ur explanation..
I recommend this camera after seeing calvin photo example and explanation of this camera.
But my friend cant find T-900 in VAIO shop, only found T-90.
Then she bought T-90. Worried if the pic quality of T-90 is much worse than T-900.
May be still no T-900 in Malaysia hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
Not a problem!

I bought mine from USA. I am pretty sure it's available in KL already. I heard Boeing in Sg Wang has it.

The picture quality is gonna be the same but you get a lil more out of the T900.

Can you check with her if the T90 has continuous AF during video recording?

Does the battery go flat fast?
*
Well, the battery does not last very long. I think the battery supplied can last at least an hour (not sure)?

But with the Sony InfoLithium D-type NP-FD1, you can make at least 2 hours with it.

But one must understand that this camera is heavily dependent on it's 3.5" touch screen LCD, so battery life may not be one of it's best points.

Thx guys rclxms.gif ,

my gf wants one but I'm afraid that the battery life end up as short as the V1 that
it's going to replace, ended up having to buy a 2nd batt for it.

Video looks good  thumbup.gif

Short battery life really cannot escape with any camera that relies only on the LCD screen for controls.
