Pioneer, LG, Sony, Philips etc are considered as consumer brands type, therefore "better brand" but not "Branded" like Denon dvd player, Onkyo, Optomo etc..... Pioneer, Philips, Sony which considered better one, IMO no sound improvement difference, only PQ improvement because they have upscaling capability. Another plus point is they are not sensitive in reading pirated disc!
