ini salah.the fees is not 3-4 times more, but 10-12 times more compared to public uni.also public uni has some of the best lecturers.they have years of experience in each of their fields.

Could you please clarify further regarding the salary issue? it's stated that the tuition fee is RM12k in total/year. but theyre paying the subsidized fee which is ard RM1.4k...the gov still pump in money into local uni right?
*
the fee is 3 - 4 times dude, 4 year degree in uniten is around 48k 4 year degree in uthm also 12k ... do your math have any problem?

aya ini mesti igt fees/etc etc payment mahal therefore staffs oso get more bucks  tongue.gif ...men what a gullible thought.masuk private u dulu selidik2 dulu.lets say u have been there, get to know your lecturers more then just sucking about grades/tips bla bla.
ok salary issue, for one public u is gov funded, i.e their salaries is subsidiesed.

they get better pay packet, benefits, flexible teaching time, flexible RnD time(ini kalau x tau sila la google malas mau explain  tongue.gif ), flexible fyp students per lecturer must supervise, and less stressfull working enviroment since most public u's have "faculties"(this one oso if you paham....u paham la x paham nnt i terang wakaka  brows.gif )
oo 48k...sapa cakap....go do your math back la adik.
bingo, main pt between a professional and a lecturer.i like u lust.gif . and its a fact that most public u lecturers are educators not just engineers taken from the field.

lastly all the pts above im talking in a stand point of "uniten" compared to public U's only k bkn  private college/u lain2.so dont get the wrong idea im generalizing all the private sector of education smile.gif
*
mr. can u go back primary then? 14k to 50k ratio is 10? and yet sorry i dunno wat you are talking in malay coz my malay not fluently

anyway, for teaching degree, a lecturer should have min master and above... not say phd holder then is good lecturer.... may be the lecturer is phd or even a prof.. but if they cant deliver the knowledge to the student still is useless ok?

no matter private or local, quality is always an issue to comment on.... but really that local u standard can always overcome uniten? no doubt local u concern on researching but not mean it is good. a lot of issue need to discuss with. so just to give mind to TS, no matter where u go think that few thing

1. what the thing u actually want to archieve?
2. your money affortable or not? external loan ? scholarship or ptptn? it is affortable to repay back or not? 100m, 200 or 300 per month that u able to affort
3. cheap not mean always bad, expensive not always good just u need to see which side can give u the way u want. i suggest u ask those ppl already working or some manager of the company, see wat thier advise.
4. culture. although culture can be adapt, but think to yourself, how long can u adapt to an enviroment. this is quite important. the faster u adapt the more easy your study.

hope u have the answer soon and cheer up TS.

TS u can check your personal message i have write something for u. thx you.

aya... this is i meant literally lo...a figure of speech, not actual maths and not comparing numbers.

and fyi, brush up you bm, dont look down on ANY language.also the fees for uniten is expensive and by far more then 3/4 times, not 9/01 la but at least more then the 3/4 times stated earlier.how i know, well me and uniten go way back.

ok now to ts la choose wch one u think can give you a best start for your education, either way it all depends on you to.you need to put in the effort to excel in your studies, no matter whr you go nothing is easy, you put in the work you reap the benefits.and in my honest opinion its better for you to choose uthm if you are interested in Civil eng, as unitens' civil eng is not as broad as uthm's, but if its EE, ME or IT then uniten can give a good fight for uthm.

good luck on furthering your studies.

i do agree with u d facts here keenjoy1413. but i believe every uni be it private or local gov U each have their own specialty. mayb uniten is good majoring in engineering? mayb its good @english short couses offered there? mayb its gud @its transportation or otr facilities etc etc.. im not sure about uniten but i do know that uthm is not lacking in facilities wise, environment 4study also in civil engineering as well. n i believe u can c d same problem dat not all lecturers in every universities are flawless. some r really greatly qualified but dey juz can't deliver d teachings well.

i think we miss see 1 of the line that TS write. is regarding his gf. his gf in in KL most probably study within KL will be suitable for him coz long distance relationship not easy to maintain. but anything just depend on TS we just can show our comment and decision based on him.
may be money is one of the point, but i think the point 4 regarding his gf should be the most stressing him now since, batu pahat and kl quite a long distance, anyway TS should be KL, 25 minutes wont a burden for him, i think i wont use up lot of expenses money since TS still able to stay in his home.

lol....... dun quarrel on this lol.......
ipts and ipta have its own policy we cant comment that....

BHS, your view is right coz uthm hv its own advantage
krools, u also right coz that is your feeling coz i also have that kind of feeling like urs 4 year ago.... but that is depend ppl, u like it then study there, dun like it then dun study there lo.... no ppl will say anything, just yourself know wat you want to archieve...
stop on talking that, just show positive comment for both the university and let the TS choose himself

QUOTE(hsienhsien @ Jun 24 2009, 12:11 AM)
ok, i read all the comments, now i have made up my mind, i will go to UTHM.
why i choose uthm, because it is cheap compare to uniten, i dowan to owe so much money from ptptn, it is not a wise choice to owe a huge amount of money in the future. since uthm and uniten both oso accredited by bem, and uthm is a local uni and just upgraded to uni status, i believe in the future uthm will b better because uthm got doctorate programs, and their lecturers are doctorate holder too, i believe they can teach well smile.gif but got into uni, it canot fully depends on lecturers, have to put more effort in selfstudy.
once again, i really appreciated to all the forumers dropped a lot of experiences, thoughts, good and bad for both uni, if u guys dont share all the thoughts, i guess i still canot make up my mind now, thanks a lot to all of u!! I LOVE U GUYS! THANKS!! rclxms.gif may god bless u all and good luck!! rclxms.gif

regards,

lol TS, i dun agree with u this point, have doctorate program not mean better ok? many of the private U also have doctorate program, that just a program cannot show that its a good university.

beside that, most of the university also full of phd holder lecturer, depend whether the lecturer itself can elaborate the point efficient or not... not mean PHD holder lecturer must be better than master degree holder, there are no such thing.
i bet u to view yourself even some master degree lecturer are much more proffesional and well in teaching than a so called phd holder lecturer.

dunno enhoo or BHS agree my point or not, even a lecturer have PHD but they still lousy in teaching, sometimes cant even answer then student question? this type of lecturer sure have in anywhere de.
