Looking to replace Outlook?

We don't want to take anything away from other email clients (also known as POP or IMAP email clients) and webmail applications; but the reality is email clients like Outlook slow down with larger mailboxes and Outlook Express or Thunderbird don't offer as robust features.

Zimbra Desktop uses modern Web 2.0 AJAX technology and is designed to handle several email accounts with multi-gigabyte storage. There's no more 2 gigabyte mailbox limits (sorry Outlook), plus Zimbra Desktop works offline so you can write email anywhere! More!

YZD is a free and open source email software application. It's cross-platform, available on Windows, Mac OS and Linux. YZD can work with many types of servers to synchronize email, contacts and calendar data between user's mailboxes on servers and local data stored on your computer disk. While synchronization requires network connectivity, YZD can be used when the user's computer is not connected to the network.

To date, YZD supports the following account types:

Zimbra
Yahoo! Mail
Gmail
Windows Live Mail
AOL Mail
Microsoft Exchange (IMAP access only)
Other email services providing POP3 or IMAP4 access

You can use YZD as a standalone email client. It's just Yahoo!-branded software, similar to Mozilla's Thunderbird, etc.
