I had this problem b4 & onLy way i managed to control it was to keep cleaning/changing the bedding
& using anti flea spray...

2 CoupLe of months oLd shouLd be ok to bathe aLready. Guinea pigs matuRe reaLLy fast.
Just don't do it too often & don't get wateR/soap into its eyes,eaRs & mouth.

The cat carrier is sufficient enough for travel... BUT GP cannot travel too much as they get stressed easily. Where you planning to bring them

I've neuteRed my GP b4 but I'm in no position to recommend any cLinic ...
coz my GP faced some compLications afteR suRgeRy & had to go back for 2nd suRgeRy...
so i wouLdn't daRe to simpLy recommend.
he's doing fine now though XD...

HoweveR ...the cost ranges between RM100+ to RM200+ depending on which cLinic u choose..
It'LL heLp to caLL up & ask befoRe u decide.
Tip: U shouLd aLso ask if the vet is expeRienced in neuteRing GP & how many they've successfuLLy neuteRed.
It'LL take onLy coupLe of houRs...
I think u'LL have to fast uR guinea pig the night befoRe, drop it off at the cLinic the next moRning & coLLect it in the evening.

Note: TheRe R to types of anesthetic.
1) InjectibLe - injects anesthetic into the muscLe & is veRy painfuL but aLot CHEAPER
2) Gas - inhaLed & puts the GP to sLeep but moRe costLy
I have/had 2 GP's with dentaL pRob.
1) One was boRn with defoRmed moLars & couLdn't eat pRopeRLy..
The vet couLdn't save it... but I did manage to foRce feed it for coupLe of months b4 it died.
2) 2nd one is stiLL with me & has the same pRObLem as uRs. His teeth kept grOwing & he wouLdn't chew on anything haRd.
I got it tRimmed twice so faR & he's doing okay.

As for food wise...
1) I BLEND/CRushed theiR peLLets tiL it became Like sand.
2) I feed them softeR vegetabLes Like TOMATOes.

FoR emeRgency, if it stiLL doesn't eat much & Loses too much weight... u'LL have to foRce feed it by hand & that's kinda Risky..
1) BLend vegetabLe/fRuit juice & feed it using a syRinge.
2) Can try feeding it human baby food.
pRobLem with the syringe method is.. it might go down the wRong channeL & dRown the Lungs oR come out thRough it's nose.
So tRy not to use this methoD unLess u have no choice.

My piggies having serious mite problems and i guess even advantage also cant help now..i think i might need to use medicine and shampoo at the same time...I really headache la use all method to clean the cage and everything but still have these problems...anyone have sucessful method to get rid of mites pls share here...thanks~~

@Chubby: Maybe you should try just put medicine first and don't bath it? I Dunno it's same thing goes to GP or not la, but when my dog got fungus that time, the Vet advice me better dont bath her for awhile after apply the medicine.

Thanks for all the mites advises.Well I put advantage every 2 weeks and already 4 tubes and the mites comes and go...like Dr Jenny said clean ur cage throughly...i did but it still got mites...Cream for mites? May I have the name so maybe I can try other time cos maybe the mites are used to Advantage no effect already...My piggies fur also shedding alot...when i hold on them their fur just shedding on my hand all over...worry for them. But they still eat and drink as usual...

Thanks Sugar will try to buy these items this weekend. Well, last day my place muslim neighbour play fireworks and my piggies was so scared running up and down the cage...the noises too loud for them so pity them...so I take them out and try to "tam" them and after a while they are back to normal begging for food again...today i use a shoe box and make a hidey for them in case any loud noise they still able to hide in there...hahaha...they love to explorer new item in a cage.curious animal...LOL thanks again!!

It's actually better to trim it often than to let it grow long. If it becomes long and curls, you will have a harder time cutting it off. Your GP can get sore feet and will hard for them to move around..

Today put the cage under the sun hopefully can kill the germs and mites eggs too...Then I checked the piggies and their mites gone....hahaha advantages wonders...if u got put medicine sure they are clean and active and eat non stop...if no medicine their fur are hard and they eat lesser...

Oh yes i follow wat you told me to do so...hopefully they can be recover by mites attack...Well, I cant find any Germised as Sugar told me to find...so at the moment just use vinegar...I will try other ways to clean the cage when i find out how... Thanks for sharing here...my piggies love cucumber so much...i give them the celery and cucumber they finished all the cucumber and left the celery lying on the plates...Funny they dun like cherry tomotoes..so guess i need to eat it myself then...after having them I eat more vege than before...cos watever they dun like will end up in my stomach instead...no wonder my friends said I slim down...hahaha good good...

have been observing for the past 1 hour... dun seems ok to me as the baby gp keep kena bully...

the both elder gp are curious and keep smelling and show aggresiveness towards the smaller gp..
