Since he was really quiet and stay calm look at me so i decide to buy it without choosing a nice 1, till now is great and he is 70% toilet trained after i bought him. Really happy & suitable in any environment. Now i everyday play with him & happy loh.

Sex: Male
Breeds of Guinea Pig: Abyssinian
Color: Brown & white

1 question to ask some sifu here, is that alright while the gp drink the water bottle and get some water in it's nose? because every time i saw the nose have some water on it and i clean it with tissue.

Any solution for that as i know pet are not allowed to get water in nose.

2- If want to bath them only able to use cotton or coat to clean them rite? not able to bath since still small yet rite??

If not mistaken... should be from carpets & wooden materials.
Flea eggs can live for a long time without having to feed on anything. >_<~
So it probably didn't come from the hay.
Probably one of animal lovers biggest nightmaRe! (really hard to get rid of)  rclxub.gif
I had this problem b4 & onLy way i managed to control it was to keep cleaning/changing the bedding
& using anti flea spray...

Unfortunately...If i stop.. they will come back eventuaLLy....T______T
1 Erm.. not sure if it's ok but my guinea pig do get water on/in it's nose sometimes..
Changing the bottle might heLp though... What kinda bottLe aRe u using?

2 CoupLe of months oLd shouLd be ok to bathe aLready. Guinea pigs matuRe reaLLy fast.
Just don't do it too often & don't get wateR/soap into its eyes,eaRs & mouth.
Use waRm & bLow it dRy.
*
The bottle i use is water bottle, however issue had solved.

Thanks for your advice, want to ask normally what you all buy to bring your lovely gp travel?

I've neuteRed my GP b4 but I'm in no position to recommend any cLinic ...
coz my GP faced some compLications afteR suRgeRy & had to go back for 2nd suRgeRy...
so i wouLdn't daRe to simpLy recommend.
he's doing fine now though XD...

HoweveR ...the cost ranges between RM100+ to RM200+ depending on which cLinic u choose..
It'LL heLp to caLL up & ask befoRe u decide.
Tip: U shouLd aLso ask if the vet is expeRienced in neuteRing GP & how many they've successfuLLy neuteRed.
It'LL take onLy coupLe of houRs...
I think u'LL have to fast uR guinea pig the night befoRe, drop it off at the cLinic the next moRning & coLLect it in the evening.

Note: TheRe R to types of anesthetic.
1) InjectibLe - injects anesthetic into the muscLe & is veRy painfuL but aLot CHEAPER
2) Gas - inhaLed & puts the GP to sLeep but moRe costLy
I have/had 2 GP's with dentaL pRob.
1) One was boRn with defoRmed moLars & couLdn't eat pRopeRLy..
The vet couLdn't save it... but I did manage to foRce feed it for coupLe of months b4 it died.
2) 2nd one is stiLL with me & has the same pRObLem as uRs. His teeth kept grOwing & he wouLdn't chew on anything haRd.
I got it tRimmed twice so faR & he's doing okay.

As for food wise...
1) I BLEND/CRushed theiR peLLets tiL it became Like sand.
2) I feed them softeR vegetabLes Like TOMATOes.

FoR emeRgency, if it stiLL doesn't eat much & Loses too much weight... u'LL have to foRce feed it by hand & that's kinda Risky..
1) BLend vegetabLe/fRuit juice & feed it using a syRinge.
2) Can try feeding it human baby food.
pRobLem with the syringe method is.. it might go down the wRong channeL & dRown the Lungs oR come out thRough it's nose.
So tRy not to use this methoD unLess u have no choice.

It's really sad to heard that gp facing this kind of problem.... cry.gif cry.gif

Because the author only have knowledge about hamster only and not a pet lover.

QUOTE(Chubbyagel @ Sep 25 2009, 03:13 AM)
My piggies having serious mite problems and i guess even advantage also cant help now..i think i might need to use medicine and shampoo at the same time...I really headache la use all method to clean the cage and everything but still have these problems...anyone have sucessful method to get rid of mites pls share here...thanks~~
*
Recommend you don't use shampoo immediately, use cream and brush it the place which is effected, and don't apply the cream too much, abit is ok, do it twice a week, make sure you don't put too much fruit in the cage, put on table is good. notworthy.gif Remeber don't bath because Gp is no need bath accept their have really no choice (not to say smelly or dirty)

QUOTE(chamyk2311 @ Sep 25 2009, 09:41 AM)
@Chubby: Maybe you should try just put medicine first and don't bath it? I Dunno it's same thing goes to GP or not la, but when my dog got fungus that time, the Vet advice me better dont bath her for awhile after apply the medicine.
*
Yeah chamyk2311, you are rite since fungus is the cure with cream 1st, bath are not necessary until the fungus are completely removed.

Thanks for all the mites advises.Well I put advantage every 2 weeks and already 4 tubes and the mites comes and go...like Dr Jenny said clean ur cage throughly...i did but it still got mites...Cream for mites? May I have the name so maybe I can try other time cos maybe the mites are used to Advantage no effect already...My piggies fur also shedding alot...when i hold on them their fur just shedding on my hand all over...worry for them. But they still eat and drink as usual...
*
You can wash the cage with vinegar and put under the sun to dry.

Thanks Sugar will try to buy these items this weekend. Well, last day my place muslim neighbour play fireworks and my piggies was so scared running up and down the cage...the noises too loud for them so pity them...so I take them out and try to "tam" them and after a while they are back to normal begging for food again...today i use a shoe box and make a hidey for them in case any loud noise they still able to hide in there...hahaha...they love to explorer new item in a cage.curious animal...LOL thanks again!!
*
Oh, that was great idea to take shoe box, i will do that too.

The fur are quite easy to get dirty and became yellow, have to use to wipe tissues and trim it. >.< anyone got any experience of their gp around 2-3 months their nails are sharp? did it need to get trim as well?? or wait after 4-5months? doh.gif

It's actually better to trim it often than to let it grow long. If it becomes long and curls, you will have a harder time cutting it off. Your GP can get sore feet and will hard for them to move around..

Cherry ar..out of budget wor...hahaha expensive le...it can cost abt Rm27 per(dunno how they weight)...so dun dare to buy it anymore...:)anyway no more tomatoes for my piggies cos they dun like it at all...need to find new vege for them...they love kangkung alot, celery and cucumber(most liked) drool.gif Sawi they dun like it..maybe bitter kua...broccoli also dun like...hmm...can eat cabbage ma??curious cos they like crunchy vege...and me also can hear them munching all the time...so cute rclxms.gif
*
is per 100 gram.

Bad foods for guinea pigs to eat are: Iceberg lettuce, all varieties of green cabbage, chinese cabbage, cauliflower, and red cabbage.

Poisonous foods for guinea pigs to eat are: Potato peelings and raw beans. As for the actual potato, there has been some confusion about whether they are or aren't poisonous to guinea pigs.

To be on the safe side, I would suggest not feeding your guinea pig potatoes. thumbup.gif Oppss, talk too much sweat.gif Sumimasen deshita <^.^> rclxms.gif tongue.gif
