i teach my GPs to do a spin or twice to beg for food. if they spin once they will get the regular size of cutted cherry tomato, carrot or broccoli. if they spin twice they'll get bigger portion its not that hard to teach them, just be patient.

hmm i'm still waiting for Yui to deliver her babies...her stomach so heavy n big d, n the babies kicking like crazy....i cant tell when she's going to delive (i waited for 3 weeks d...) maybe its just around the corner, maybe tonite?

ic u wan GP? sure i have to wait for my Yui to deliver the babies then i'll get back to you ya still waiting....my other 2 females are pregnant too but still along way to go....

i have 4 gps now, 2 abby n 2 normal.


ne any GP owner around Klang? there will be a Cantten Day in SK BKT TINGGI tomorrow from 7am-3pm, i need volunteer to bring their GP n other pets (except dog---sorry) to volunteer in our education event "WONDER PETS BOOTH" i'm short of volunteers now as some on the list might not make it...please anyone help me, i dun want to let the kids down....i feel like wanna cry too~! help help~!

rite now i have for event are 4 types of tarantula, abby n normal GP, mongolian gerbil, rhino beetle. unconfirmed are sugar gliders, scorpions, hollad loop rabbit, ferret n duprasi....pls help i'm critical la....(sorry i dont mean to spam)

hi everyone, its been a while...

i would like to ask if anyone can tell me how to know ur GP is going to give birth? got signs like she will stay only in 1 place in the cage, or she'll wheek or whine aloud? i cant tell when my YUi is going to deliver. i'm worried her pregnancy took too long to finish. last 2 days i tried to touch her stomach at the side and she like squeal as if i hurt her, then when i try to hold her for closer look she will try to avoid my touch, then whe i try to lift her she'll squeal when i touch her belly...gosh i'm so worried...is she in pain?

and is it normal for pregnant sow to lose their fur in some part of their body? my Yui's ankle area is almost bare, and her skin felt dry to my touch...is this normal? can pregnant sow can be treated for her skin problem or should i wait till she finish deliver then start the treatment?

Help, i'm so worried about Yui....

thank you for your advise, honestly the skin around her legs looks really severe, got many flakes oso...i suspect that she maybe allergic to beddings now, coz i notice the flakes and hair loss a few days after i move her to the small cage tht i call maternity ward. there i use BC at first, then my BC finish i replace with wood shavings. My other GPs in them main cage already heal from the skin problem after i use the shampoo on them...

but how to bath a pregnant GP? i'm afraid she hurt herself n her babies i inside her if she struggle while i bath her...

1 more Q, when the delivery day is near, will the babies inside her kick like crazy as usual or will they be more quiet? 2 days ago the babies ofter kick, now they kick less, is tht a sign of problem?

sorry i ask too many Q, this is the first GP pregnancy i deal with, so i'm very worried cos i felt like i know so little..if my hamster pregnant i wont be too worried, used to it already, besides i cannot compare GP n hamster anyway...

thanks for you advise ya, since 3 days ago i put her cage near me while i sleep n check on her regularly to make sure tht she's fine...i really hope everthing will be well, i cant stop worrying about her...about the vit c, i'm not sure whether i did not give her enough, coz i give her veges n fruits more than usual coz i read preg sows need double dosage of vit c...i still suspect it was the bedding. i think of bringing her to dr. Jenny but i dont know how to get there. i know there is a map but i nv been to tht area b4...i'm not very good with roads, but maybe i should just try to go according to the map...

hi there guys,

Yesterday 3rd May around 10.50pm my Yui gave birth to 3 babies, 2 albino(dunno in GP world we call it albino or not, but its pure white n red ayes) and 1 black. i saw Yui pushing while i just started to do the dishes so i stay with her all the way to the end. Unfortunately out of 3 pups only 1 survive, the 1st baby that came out and she is onle of the albino. the 2nd baby came out weak n barely breathing. i tried to revive it but to no avail. the 3rd tht was the black one came out still n cold, probably is dead before it came to the world.
I'm sad for the lost of the 2 babies, but i'm relieved tht Yui is safe n the white baby is fine. the baby have difficulty of milking at first, i thought she need help but she's doing just fine n active, i hope the kid make it
Thank you Juztiny for her valuable guidance, i called her during the birth of the babies n she guide n advice me with patience, thank you so much~! and thanks to all here who help me during Yui's pregnancy too. Hope the experience i had yesterday can help in my other 2 female's delivery too, i think it'll be in next month i'll upload the pics of yui n her baby soon ya~!

hehe thanks~! um i guess its an abby (the mom is normal GP while the dad is abby) right now dunno if its a he or she, but i think i'll name this cute fella Kumo-chan. Kumo is "cloud" in japanese, so i giess the name suit the white fluffy fur regardless the gender...

oh ya btw i got 2 male GP to let go, 7months n 5 months old, anyone interested please click the link on my signature ya.

i hope its not to late to say congrats Juztiny for the cute babies i have 2 news frm my pets, 1 bad n 1 good....

bad news is....kumo-chan my baby white abby left us last nite around 11pm...she is very weak...she refuse to milk n eat, and i never know why....I'm so sad of her leaving when i held her in my hands, i almost couldnt bear it...

i suspected that she is blind, she have difficulties milking n finding her mom, (i dunno her sex but i just suspect its a she) and she didnt eat unless i encourage her slowly to chew...i tried my best to save her but....may kumo-chan RIP

the good news is, my other GP Cyndyquil gave birth to 3 VERY energetic babies 7th May around 11pm. i didnt expect she'll deliver anytime soon (i miscalculated....) and almost got a heart attack when i saw her first baby pop out while i fill her feeding bowl. as i observe her delivery was very fast n she looks like very experienced. the 3rd baby is very weak, i did the "spin" technic to help clear the fluid stuck in her, and now she is is running n jumping with the other 2, haha so glad all of them are safe

the 3 kids start eating n exploring the cage already...they are very active n jumpy, really different from Yui's babies...they grew very quickly too~! and their colors are nothing like their mom or dad, 1st is beautiful broken reddish brown n black color, 2nd is reddish brown, 3rd is all black..all of them is abby will post pics later ya

thank you dear meiixiin n juztiny...hmm how much a big pack of oxbow pellet cost? u try sell it to GP owners here la, better than wasting it...my GP are on prestige cavi + Hagen pellets. they just love it

currently i have 6 + 3babies= 9 GPs originally i got 4 of my own (1 male n his 3 wifes ) then my aunt hand me her 2 males as she will move to Korea (now looking for new kind owner for them coz i have many gp already... )

my family gets bigger with the 3 naughty kids summore hoho and my 3rd female are oso counting her days to her delivery....now thats what i call raining guinea pigs.....

hikano-san, if you want a baby abby maybe i can sell to you, once the kids are ready to be rehome

haha muchan i love abby too, in fact i love all type of GP, they are irresistable~! oh Juztiny ur babies (i mean ur GP babies...) are so cute~! oh the color of ur fave brown GP is similar to one of the babies i had (um...my GP had... ) i call the color reddish brown, to me the color is unique oh you can see the gender at 2 days old? really expert~!

my cam is with my dad and he's snoring now.... cant wait to take their pics...

um i wanna ask, izzit ok if i put my other pregnant abby in the same cage with the momy gp n the kids? during the delivery i remove her frm the cage, i put her in a cage next to the original cage, but she is restless, keep biting the bars to get out n keep looking at her fren the mom...so last nite i transfer her back to the cage...she help cleaning the kids n the kids oso love laying next to her. the mom oso look relaxed n dun show defensive or stress..i wonder will there will be any issue? for now all seems ok...

Nao just gave birth around 9.15pm, 4 babies actually, but the last one is an immature birth, i can only see a baby skull and some flesh....the other 3 are looking fine for now, i'll check them once an hour to make sure the babies condition..its really raining piggies in my house....!!

i'm worried about the heat nowadays will affect my piggies....even me oso cannot tahan wor.....

wa why torture~! kesian wor...haha but i sumtimes torture my piggies too, make them do the "tap dance" muahaha~!

about the welts, my sis got it too when she play eith the GPs, in malay i think its called "gelegate"....dunno if its the same thing or not, but they look similr to mosquito bites, big n small many benjol...but the thing will dissapear in about an hour or so...i dunno what cause it, maybe the GP got something in the fur that irritates our skin?

i think they are similar in my case, but the welts i got from my hedgehog only 2-3 benjol onli, but my sis if she play with the gp she got like 10-20 small n big benjol...kinda scary to look at and she said its very itchy, luckily it dissapear quickly

from my experiance this will happen less if you bath ur gp like once in 2 weeks...i think its the stain on the fur left tht stick from their pee, poo, soiled bedding n hay tht caused this, so i guess the key to avoid this is hygene...

but i guess its not easy la, although i bath them n change bedding frequently this thing sometimes still happen....

haha i got 6 adult gps n 6 GP babies = 12gps....imagine the poo....if leave 1 nite will become POO mountain lor....

here's Cyndy's babies~! They'll be 1 week old by tomorrow, now very active, and very cooperative n freindly with Nao's babies which was born on Tuesday 12th May. Cyndy help alot on guiding Nao how to raise her kids too, she is such a lovely n warm mother. Now Nao is capable of milking and taking care of her own kids, thanks to Cyndy~!

The orange one is the redish brown i mentioned earlier, as she grow the shade of its fur become lighter until look like orange. I called this kid Simba, coz the fur looks like lion The pure black kid i call Kuromi, and the mix orange/black i call Leon. until now i still cant be sure of their gender...coz their genitals looks the same wor....

Will post Nao's kids next, maybe by next week, for now enjoy

is there any special solution you use to soak the vege? soak for 1 hour not too long izzit? coz i once read that vitamins in vege is easily dissolve in water, that is why some veges we don cook too long..correct me if i'm wrong...

hi everyone...this is the pic of Simba, the brown/orange baby (Cyndy's kid) and Brownie, one of Nao's kid. their age is 1 week apart (Simba is older 1 week than Brownie) but as Brownie was born bigger than any other babies she is now the same size as Cyndy's batch. Can anyone help me identify Brownie's color? izzit grey Agouti? I see her fur is white at the root n changed gradually grey to almost light brown towards the end...she is surely speciall to me
