Do you feel that 1020 is struggling to drive 122?

The 122 does require more power to perform efficiently as it is rated at 86dB@6ohm.

Hi, may i know how one can tell if a receiver is struggling to meet the speakers' demand? Thanks

You get the clipping at high volume..

Clipping as in a pause or silence at certain points in a movie? If so, will it be detrimental to the home theater setup?
I am using Yamaha v473 with PSB T1, C1 and S1(sub).

It's usually when you play too loud and your AVR doesn't have sufficient power to drive the speaker anymore. Usually the under powered amp was more damaging to the speakers compared to slight 'over powered' amp..

Your Yamaha V473 should be alright as long as you didn't turn up the volume too loud..

Referring to the specs above, the V473 outputs 105W/channel. The T1 and C1's recommended input power is up to 120W.

1. Are these the infos i should look for when i scout for amp/speakers to ensure compatibility?
2. Does it mean that i should get an amp that ouputs >120W / channel if i decide to upgrade the amp in the future?
3. The V673 and V773 are more pricey, yet the output wattage/channel is less than the V473?

Sorry, real noob here smile.gif

I took this from the same Amazon webpage of V473 - the output wattage is 80W. Am really confused now...
